How do you prepare a student for a world where answers are available in a click? You teach them how to ask better questions. 💡

The Cambridge Curriculum at Royal School is built around investigation and application. Rather than learning by rote, our students are trained to research, argue, collaborate, and solve complex problems.

Why parents and top universities favour this approach:
➡️ In the final 2 years, students choose 3 - 4 core subjects tailored specifically to their university ambitions.

➡️ Success isn't measured by a single high-stress exam. We combine structured assessments with practical projects to measure true capability.

➡️ Taught 100% in English by internationally trained faculty in small class sizes where no student is just a number.

We are looking back on a truly magical week we had at Summer School! 🧡
It was full of smiles, new friendships and discoveries, from time spent in nature to the creativity and imagination the children brought to every single day.

Grateful for the memories! This event was organised in collaboration with Frequentis Romania.

A different kind of day. 🌳During the summer school, we swapped the classroom for the forest for a day.

Digging, wandering the trails and relaxing in hammocks, a reminder of just how much good simple outdoor play can do.

We made it back just before the rain arrived, then settled in for some well-earned downtime. The little ones watched StoryBots in English, for the older group a round of Rummikub

And of course, no day is complete without a visit to the star of the week: the red slide. The perfect way to wrap things up. 🧡

This is how we closed out the year: sunshine, laughter, and a schoolyard full of games!

Our Summer Fete brought out the best kind of chaos this year: water fight against teachers, a packed tombola table, and non-stop laughter across the school. This is what a Royal School celebration looks like when the whole community shows up.

⭐ The Cambridge Curriculum works differently. The lesson starts with a question, and the student reaches the conclusion through exploration and application. They study a broad range of subjects, academic and creative, which they absorb in depth rather than superficially.

In the final 2 years of secondary school, the student chooses their own combination of 3 or 4 subjects to specialise in. This flexible approach lets them prepare directly for fields such as medicine, engineering, law or economics. ⚖️

Instead of everything depending on a single exam day, Cambridge combines structured exams with practical work and projects, which gives a more accurate picture of the skills a student has gained. And competences such as research, argumentation and collaboration are trained deliberately, through components like Cambridge Global Perspectives.

🇬🇧 Royal School is the only school in Cluj-Napoca that teaches the Cambridge Curriculum exclusively in English, with teachers trained to international standards and small classes. Our mission is simple: opportunity, community and global responsibility.

At Royal School, swimming lessons are part of our educational programme, not just a fun extra. For five weeks, our students head to the pool with our PE teachers, building confidence, discipline and healthy habits along the way.

Alongside academic excellence, our Cambridge Curriculum values physical development just as highly, helping children grow into well-rounded, resilient individuals ready to take on the world.

From building strength and coordination to learning perseverance (because let's be honest, swimming takes practice! ☺️), these 5 weeks in the pool teach lessons that go well beyond swimming itself.
