We continue to introduce our students and volunteers coming from Japan. Let's say hello to Shirabe Tanaka san:
Bună ziua, tuturor!
My name is Shirabe Tanaka and I was born in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. I am studying at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Oita Prefecture. My major is Sustainability and Tourism. Since February I have studied International Business at the Romanian American University, with an Erasmus+ scholarship. I decided to apply for a scholarship in Romania because I wanted to improve my English skills, experience a different culture, and travel around Europe.
My dream job is to become a cabin attendant because I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping them have a comfortable travel experience. My hobbies are dancing and listening to music. I also prefer outdoor activities because I enjoy exploring new places, traveling, and spending time with friends.
My best experience in Romania was making many friends from different countries and learning about their cultures. I made many friends at RAU, and I am very grateful for the friendships I built during my exchange semester.
My favorite food was LUCA’s pastries and snacks. They were delicious and affordable, so I often bought them.
On some of the weekends I visited several places outside Romania, including Paris in France and Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome in Italy. My favorite was Rome because of its rich history and beautiful architecture.
I did not learn much Romanian, but my favorite expression is “Mulțumesc,” which means “Thank you.” I used it almost every day.
