Romania 2016 - World Challenge - Sittingbourne Community College

And finally... Well done everyone, each and everyone were super- stars... As stated after the first day of the trek, I would not have wanted to be with any other group of students at that point, because I knew if we could get through that day, we were going to get through anything the trek was going to throw at us! You all overcame personal obstacles either in the lead up to the challenge or during the 2 weeks. Please remember the little legacy you left in a small Romanian village with the school children, whilst also remembering the mental and physical obstacles you overcame during the second week of the challenge... Use these experiences as a platform for greater things. Everyone of you are capable of so much, all you need to remember is that if the 'mind can conceive it, your mind, body and soul will achieve it!' All of you were a credit to your parents, now go rest, relax and reflect and get yourself ready for your next challenge's, you were all so great!!!

So having thanked the parents, I guess the next thank you 'must' be to the World Challenge leaders who without, would not have created the experience that we all had... From 'Maaaaaaaaaa-rrrryyyyyy - Mary' who's unbelievable experience was there for all to see - the safest pair of hands I've ever come across, to Chloe (or Lockers) who was the person who for a first timer in such a position was such a natural, each and every challenger loved being around you...! Let's not forget our Romanian leaders... Cristie - dead pan and to the point, he kept it real! Ionut - (or Janoot/Johnny - for us English) Romania's answer to Bear Grylls! Darou - who although was the main man, was never on time and according to 'Aspen' needs driving lessons... And then of course Iulian - Julian, who was an unbelievable source of Romanian history... Finally, thank you for the presents, so appreciated, it was great to think you guys felt we deserved this... These gifts meant so much!!!

Well, anyone would think the challengers had not enjoyed themselves, particularly the way they were so excited to be going home... These are photos of the guys as they prepare to get on the plane at Bucharest airport... They even managed to attract a similar charity group who managed to 'photo bomb' the World Challenge selfies... I hope they all had a good time?!? ;)))

Last day and after a 10 hour train ride from the North of Romania - Transylvania the challengers get the chance to have a guided tour from Iulian - (Julian is the English pronunciation) of Bucharest... A city with so many architectural influences. A result of all the different European take overs it had to overcome in the last 2000 years, wars and changes that are still very much at the forefront of their minds... What a unique and interesting city... The challengers asked so many questions... Fantastic way to end an unbelievable 2 week experience!

Hi all... Just a quick message to prove we've all arrived in Bucharest after our overnight train and we're ready to see all our nearest and dearest... Looking forward to seeing all parents once we land in Heathrow Terminal 5 at 6.45pm this evening... Bucharest has McDonald's as well you know... See you'll soon!!!

Day 5, the final day... Again working so hard together as a team... Please look through the photos... You will see the joy in the groups faces when they get the chance to have their first restaurant meal in over 6 days... The group now appreciate hot water, rubbish bins and their beds...

Day 3 and 4... Phone battery now running out... Nonetheless the photos still as memorable... Spirits always high despite the mental and physical challenges... So impressive!
