At first, Horia simply did what was asked of him at school. He wasn’t necessarily the child seeking extra activities or opportunities beyond the standard curriculum. Over time, however, something shifted. He began saying "yes" to new projects, asking more questions, seeking answers beyond classroom learning, and testing his own choices.

16 years later, he graduated from Avenor High School with exceptional A Level results: A* in Chemistry, A* in Mathematics, A* in Economics, and A in Biology. More importantly, he left with a clear direction for his next chapter: studying medicine at a top university in Italy.

Alexandru, Andrei, Maria and Ștefania achieved 100 PUM (Percentage Uniform Mark) in IGCSE English as a Second Language, the highest score on the scale used by Cambridge.

This is an exceptional achievement that confirms an outstanding level of English proficiency – the ability to understand and use the language with a very high degree of accuracy and fluency, both in written and spoken communication.

At 14–15, choosing an academic direction can feel like a decision far too big for a teenager.

Which subjects do they genuinely enjoy? What are they good at? What would they like to study next? And, most importantly, how can they know any of this before they have had enough time to discover it?

In the British education system, students have more time to find these answers. Cambridge IGCSE gives them the opportunity to explore a range of subjects, discover their strengths and begin making academic choices based on what suits them best.

And this year’s Cambridge IGCSE results at Avenor give us plenty to celebrate.

Many of our students achieved excellent results, with performances reaching the highest levels possible.

Behind these results are years of hard work, curiosity, discipline and academic choices that are beginning to take shape. They are students who have had the time to discover what they enjoy, what they are good at and which direction they would like to take next.

The IGCSE results are therefore more than a set of grades. They are an important milestone in a journey that continues, for each student, with new choices and new opportunities.

The results achieved by Avenor students in their Cambridge exams are an opportunity to celebrate their hard work, perseverance, and the academic journeys they have built with confidence.

Alex and Matei completed their full A Level exams as early as Grade 11, choosing to build an academic path adapted to their own goals and pace of learning. Alex achieved A* in Mathematics and Computer Science, while Matei achieved A* in Mathematics — results that reflect their academic ability, independence, and consistency throughout this journey.

Dimi, Andreea, Marius and Sonia achieved an A grade in three of the AS subjects they took exams in, demonstrating a very strong academic level, as well as passion and dedication for the subjects they choose to explore in greater depth.

At Avenor, every student has the freedom to build their own path, progress at their own pace, and confidently follow the direction that helps them reach their full potential.

Congratulations, Alex, Dimi, Matei, Andreea, Marius and Sonia, on these results and, above all, on the hard work, perseverance and dedication behind them!

The Avenor Campus came back to life as the 2026–2027 school year began.

Students, parents and teachers came together for the Opening Ceremony — a moment that marks, each year, not only the return to school, but also the beginning of a new journey that we will build together.

Reunions after the summer break, the excitement of a first day for the newest members of our community, flowers, smiles and plenty of enthusiasm for what lies ahead — all were part of the atmosphere of this special day.

And, of course, our traditional launch of biodegradable balloons was not to be missed, each carrying a wish for the new school year.

As we begin this year, we do so with the desire to offer every child an environment where they can learn, discover, push beyond their limits and strive for excellence, while building their own path.

Tomorrow, September 1, marks the beginning of the 20th year in the Avenor story.

Almost 200 professionals make up the team that, day after day, brings energy, care and passion to the education of our children.
But most of all, we can’t wait for the school to be filled once again with their energy and joy. We’re looking forward to seeing our Avenor students again and welcoming those who will be walking through our doors for the very first time.

🎓 Class of 2026 | From Avenor to top UK universities

For some of the Class of 2026 graduates, the next step takes them to some of the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom.

🇬🇧 All Avenor students who chose to study in the UK were admitted to Russell Group universities—a network of 24 leading research institutions in the UK, renowned for their academic excellence, impactful research, and strong industry connections.

Their destinations include the University of Bristol, Queen Mary University of London, and King’s College London. Here, Avenor graduates will pursue degree programs that reflect a wide variety of interests and passions: from Film and Television, History and International Relations, to History and Modern Languages, and Culture, Media & Creative Industries.

Eva and Amira, two of our graduates, will continue their studies at King’s College London—one of the Golden Triangle institutions, an elite group of research-intensive universities in Cambridge, London, and Oxford. Meanwhile, Sofia will attend the University of St Andrews in Scotland, one of the country's most prestigious universities, where she will study Comparative Literature and Philosophy.

Beyond the reputation of the universities accepting them, our graduates' performance stems from their dedication, resilience, strong work ethic, and sustained effort. They have demonstrated these qualities from the moment they discovered their interests to the day they courageously chose the paths that fit them best.

The Class of 2026 achieved the best A Level results in Avenor's history.

We are extraordinarily proud of each and every one of them, and we are delighted to introduce eight outstanding students who achieved straight A and A* grades. Eight young individuals who chose their own paths and worked with rigor, passion, and perseverance to get here.

Their journeys continue toward Medicine, Economics, Law, Science, and Film. Each has their own passions, ambitions, and definition of success.

The A Level program gave them the freedom of choice and the space to delve deeply into the subjects they selected for their final years of high school. They transformed this freedom into high performance.
