Looking at the university offers our Grade 12 students have received so far, one thing stands out: many of them share a desire to understand how the world works and to help shape it through ideas, strategy, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

From Business Administration and Management to International Affairs, Data Science for Responsible Business, Global Sports Management, and Fashion Business, Avenor students are choosing fields that combine economics with their personal passions while preparing them for industries that are constantly evolving.

The offers they have received from universities such as ESCP Business School, IE University, EMLYON Business School, Brussels School of Governance, LaSalle University Barcelona, Institut Français de la Mode, Polimoda, ESMOD, and Universidad Europea reflect not only their academic achievements, but also their courage to carve out their own paths.

We are delighted to see that, for this generation, studying business is about much more than numbers and companies. It is about sport, fashion, technology, international affairs, sustainability, and social impact. It is about turning a passion into a profession and finding solutions to the challenges of an increasingly complex world.

Congratulations, Eric, Arisa, Luca, and Catinca, on these outstanding achievements and on the choices you have made! We can’t wait to see where your ambition, curiosity, and entrepreneurial spirit will take you next.

What does the end of a learning journey look like when the Romanian language is not just a subject that you study in high school, but a tool through which you learn to think, argue, and express yourself?

At Avenor, 12th-grade students complete their study of Romanian language through a distinctive form of assessment: delivering an original speech built around the theme “Myself in 10 Years.” It is an exercise that brings together years of reading, debate, analysis, and personal reflection—and challenges them to shape these into a coherent and authentic message.

In an international educational context based on the British curriculum, the decision to continue studying Romanian until the end of high school says something essential about the school’s values: cultural identity and critical thinking go hand in hand.
This year, the 8th graduating class took the stage at Grivița 53 Theatre to present their speeches in front of peers, teachers, parents, and a jury made up of Dr. Liviu Papadima, Raluca Tarcea, and Dr. Florentina Sânmihăian. Supporting them throughout this journey were Dr. Mihaela Stancu and Oana Asaftei, their Romanian language teachers, who guided and mentored them in recent years.

Dana Papadima, Educational Director at Avenor, guided the entire event and reminded us of the rules of the speech—the assessment through which our graduates complete their Romanian language studies.

Beyond the emotions, each speech was a demonstration of clarity of thought and ownership of one’s voice.

And the fact that this assessment concludes on a theatre stage is no coincidence. It may be the most fitting way to mark the transition from school years to the real world: with a meaningful speech, delivered in front of an audience.

Congratulations to all!

Avenor College and the Romanian Students Abroad League: A Partnership for Young Romanians Who Perform Internationally and Know Why It Is Worth Coming Home - Avenor 07/04/2026

🎓 What can we learn from the experiences of Romanian students who excel at universities around the world?

At Avenor, university guidance is not just about choosing an academic destination—it’s a learning process built on dialogue, reflection, and meaningful encounters that help students better understand who they want to become.

Our partnership with the League of Romanian Students Abroad (LSRS) is grounded in a shared vision: academic excellence gains true meaning when it is accompanied by responsibility, identity, and a genuine connection to the community you belong to.
Avenor students’ participation in the Gala of Romanian Students Abroad offers them the opportunity to engage directly with Romanian students studying at top universities worldwide—to ask real questions, understand the challenges of an international journey, and discover what the path they are about to choose truly looks like.

Experiences like these enrich our university guidance process in an authentic way: they transform information into understanding, aspirations into concrete plans, and the future into a conscious choice.

📖 We’ve shared more about this educational partnership and what our students learn from this experience in the article below:

The final stage of the Global Connections experience brought together the contrasts that define Romania — from authentic educational realities to living heritage and communities that preserve tradition.

The visit to a smart school in Hoghilag, alongside the meeting with the mayor, highlighted the role of local administration in revitalizing villages and engaging young people in community life. In Târnăvioara, it was a real joy to reconnect with our friends from Tășuleasa Social — Alin Ușeriu and Paul Burzo — who presented to the delegation the association’s projects, the two households developed together with students and parents from Avenor College and Transylvania College — the future hospitality hub “Proștița Sat” — as well as Via Transilvanica.

In Axente Sever, our friend, the former mayor, welcomed us with a warm, home-style meal, and the meeting highlighted the role of local leadership in transforming communities and developing educational initiatives for young people.

The journey continued to Viscri, a UNESCO-listed village supported by King Charles III for its authenticity. Here, the experience took on a special rhythm: local dinner, stories, and meaningful encounters with people who carry forward the identity of the place — Caroline Fernolend, President of the Mihai Eminescu Trust, alongside her daughter, Ursula Fernolend, who spoke about the importance of the Viscri Educational Centre — a model of non-formal education where school, volunteering, and parental involvement create an active learning environment focused on heritage conservation and rural revitalization. At the same time, Irina Motroc, visual artist and founder of DeViscriShop, shared her plans to open the village library.

In Brașov, the past came to life through a key landmark, the Black Church, where the delegation was guided by Steffen Schlandt, conductor and organist, who offered an impressive organ demonstration.

Returning to Bucharest brought this journey full circle. Each participant left with a deeper understanding of a complex, authentic, and surprisingly warm Romania — a country that wasn’t simply explained, but truly experienced.

For high school students, decisions about the future don’t start in 12th grade—they start much earlier. That’s why direct meetings with international universities are such a valuable opportunity to understand the options available, admission requirements, and the paths where they can develop their passions.

Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 had the chance to participate in one of these meetings right here on our campus, alongside representatives from top institutions such as IE, Modul University, NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Brussels School of Governance, Istituto Marangoni, EHL, Domus Academy and Atelier Chardon Savard.

Experiences like these help them clarify their interests, ask meaningful questions, and make informed decisions at their own pace. At the same time, having access to these meetings on campus gives them an important advantage: a closer connection to the international academic world.

The 8th-grade students enjoyed three days full of adventure, exploration, and challenges as part of The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Adventurous Journey programme.

During the expedition, held in the Ciucaș Mountains, students hiked impressive mountain trails, took part in team-building activities and reflection sessions, and also enjoyed relaxing moments around the campfire.

Participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a British international programme recognised for developing leadership, responsibility, and personal skills, gave students the opportunity to test their limits, strengthen their autonomy and resilience, and further develop teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Our U18 basketball team has demonstrated talent, determination, and strong team spirit over the past few months, securing 1st place in the BISAAC Basketball League!
After an intense semifinal against CSB and a final victory over AISB, our students not only lifted the trophy but also learned valuable lessons about fair play, respect, and collaboration—values that matter just as much as winning on the court.
Congratulations to our champions! 🏆
