Book Launch & Panel Discussion
Horapollo University invites you to a distinguished academic and spiritual event:
“Guide to Translating Pagan Sacred Texts”
In a context where the Romanian language is still developing its specialized terminology for pagan traditions, this volume addresses a crucial challenge: how do we faithfully translate spiritual concepts that lack direct equivalents?
🔍 Key questions we will explore:
– How should concepts like Wiccan Rede be translated?
– What do terms such as Deosil or Widdershins truly convey beyond their original language?
– Where does translation end and cultural interpretation begin?
🎙 The event brings together the author, specialists, and representatives of both the academic and spiritual communities for an applied dialogue on language, tradition, and meaning.

Today we celebrate Romanian culture in its full depth and continuity: living, layered, and resilient. A culture that does not begin or end with a single era, but unfolds across centuries—through myth, ritual, language, and creation.
Romanian culture has deep pre-Christian roots that cannot be ignored without distorting our own identity. The spiritual world of the ancient Dacians, the reverence for nature, solar symbolism, and the sacred relationship with the land and life’s cycles form a foundational layer of our cultural memory. These are not mere decorative folklore elements, but living inheritances preserved through customs, seasonal rites, traditional art, and collective consciousness.
Upon this ancestral foundation, later influences—literary, philosophical, artistic, and modern—were built, shaping a culture capable of engaging with the world while preserving its uniqueness. From myth to metaphysics, from ritual song to poetry, from village to city, Romanian culture has evolved without severing its roots.
Romanian Culture Day, symbolically linked to the name of Mihai Eminescu, is not only a tribute to the past but a responsibility toward the future. Culture is not preserved through silence or exclusion, but through conscious acknowledgment, study, creativity, and freedom of expression.
Let us have the courage to know and embrace all our roots. Only then can we build a cultural identity that is mature, honest, and dignified—one that does not deny, exclude, or fear its own depth.
Happy Romanian Culture Day.

Holiday Message from the Rector of Horapollo University – Yule 2025
Dear Members of the Horapollo University Community,
As the Wheel of the Year turns once more and we welcome Yule 2025, I extend my warmest greetings to all students, faculty, researchers, alumni, and partners of Horapollo University.
Yule is a moment of profound symbolism: the return of the light, the promise of renewal, and the quiet strength that is born in times of darkness. It reminds us that knowledge, like the sun at the winter solstice, may wane but never disappears—only to rise again with greater clarity and purpose.
The past year has tested resilience, integrity, and vision. Yet, through intellectual rigor, academic freedom, and a shared commitment to truth, our university has continued to stand as a space of critical thought, cultural dialogue, and ethical responsibility. For this, I thank each of you—without embellishment, without platitudes. The work you do matters.
Looking ahead to 2026, Horapollo University reaffirms its mission: to cultivate minds that are independent, courageous, and future-oriented; to defend diversity of thought; and to prepare leaders capable of navigating a complex, pluralistic world with wisdom rather than fear.
May this Yule bring you rest without stagnation, reflection without retreat, and hope grounded in action. Let the returning light inspire clarity, balance, and determination—in scholarship, in community, and in life.
On behalf of the University leadership, I wish you a meaningful Yule and a year ahead marked by growth, knowledge, and renewed purpose.
With respect and confidence in the future,
Emrys LeFay
Rector

HORAPOLLO UNIVERSITY was present, between July 3 and 6, 2025, at the 4th edition of the Green Man Festival in Richiș, Sibiu County. Through the active participation of Rector Cosmin Olteanu and the INCSR delegation, the pagan community in Romania claimed its place in spiritual and cultural dialogue, drawing attention to an identity heritage with deep roots in pre-Christian beliefs.
