20 years of Baby Acorns. 🌱

What began in 2006 as the first private nursery in Bucharest has grown into a place filled with warmth, trust, discovery and care — a true home for some of the most important years in a child’s life.

Baby Acorns was created with a clear vision: to offer something different, something more personal, something built around the child. With one educator for every 4 children, those early years were given the attention, security and meaningful learning they deserve.

Because the baby and toddler years are not “too early” to matter.
They are the foundation of everything that comes next.

Two decades later, our purpose remains the same: to nurture curious minds, gentle hearts and confident little steps in an English-speaking, British curriculum nursery in Bucharest.

🌍🦒 In celebration of World Africa Day, our Early Explorers Popa Soare were invited on a beautiful journey through the colours, stories and traditions of Africa! 🐘✨

We were honoured to welcome once again the wonderful storyteller Deidré Denise Matthee — Portuguese-South African writer, creative facilitator and psychologist, now living in Bucharest for over 10 years. Inspired by her childhood in South Africa’s Western Cape, Deidré shared with the children her deep love for storytelling, cultural diversity and African heritage. 📚🌿

Using traditional African dolls, animal figures and engaging storytelling, she transported the children into the heart of the African savannah, sparking curiosity, imagination and meaningful conversations. 🦁🐾

The children were fascinated to discover more about the colourful bead dolls and their cultural significance, while also learning a few African words and expressions together with Deidré! 💫🎨

Today was more than a storytelling session — it was a celebration of connection, culture, language and the beauty of learning through shared experiences. 🌍❤️

Thank you, Deidré, for creating once again such a warm and memorable experience for our children — one that will stay not only in their memories, but especially in their hearts. ✨

What if preparing children for the future meant letting them step into it today? 💻✨

Today, our Early Explorers became the first preschoolers to visit an AI company in Romania — stepping inside Footprints AI for a truly future-focused learning experience.

But this wasn’t about screens.
It was about understanding the world children are growing into.

The children explored concepts such as online safety, data privacy and artificial intelligence, discovering not only what AI is, but also how it can be used responsibly, creatively and meaningfully. They interacted with Footy, an AI companion created especially for them, asked questions with incredible curiosity, and even created a story together using technology as a tool for imagination and collaboration.

They left not only with badges, diplomas and books — but with something even more important: a real-life connection between learning and the future.

At Acorns, we believe children deserve more than preparation for today’s world.
They deserve experiences that help them confidently step into tomorrow. 🚀💛
