BSO accredited and inspected, Cambridge centre. Outstanding Safeguarding. Book your visit. King’s Oak is a truly international school with pupils from over 26 nationalities learning alongside each other. We know that one of the most important decisions that a parent makes on behalf of their child is the decision about which school to send them to. There are few things, which are likely to have mor

e impact on a young person's future than the quality of the school they attend. It is our belief that every child deserves the very best start in life and we make it our purpose to provide just that to all the children who enter our doors. Each child is unique, and a well-rounded education must take into account their wider experiences, personal motivation and innate learning styles. We aim to equip our children, not only with an excellent academic grounding, but also with qualities of character to see them through their lives beyond school. Our school ethos, based on consideration, courtesy and respect for others equips our students to have the confidence and ability to enjoy a fruitful and successful life. We want your child to make progress and achieve the very best they can; but most of all we want the children at King’s Oak to be happy and enjoy their life with us. We believe in treating every child as an individual and providing a supportive, challenging environment that develops the whole child, resulting in confident, aspirational and independent young people. Our exceptionally high ratio of adults to children allows this ideal to be a reality. We are really proud of our values, our inclusive nature and our caring and creative pupils. Together we are building a school with heart – where your child will be valued for who they are, and where we will strive to enable them to be the very best that they can be.

In Year 1, mathematics does not begin with memorising answers. It begins with understanding.

At King’s Oak, our pupils explore numbers using practical resources they can touch, move and arrange. By building number sequences, matching quantities and working together, children begin to see how numbers relate to one another — making abstract ideas meaningful and memorable.

This hands-on approach develops far more than calculation skills. It encourages mathematical thinking, problem-solving, communication and the confidence to explain: “This is how I worked it out.”

Because the strongest foundations are built when children are actively involved, appropriately challenged and genuinely enjoying their learning.

💚 Year 1 Maths at King’s Oak — building confident young mathematicians, one discovery at a time.

At King’s Oak, physical activity is an important part of a child’s education. Through movement and play, children strengthen their coordination, concentration and resilience, while experiencing the joy of learning alongside others.

Every catch is a small success.
Every attempt builds determination.
Every encouraging word helps a child believe: “I can do this.”

Because education is not only about what children know. It is also about helping them become confident, capable and willing to embrace a challenge.

💚 Confidence. Coordination. Joy.

🌿 This is what childhood should feel like.

Space to run. Fresh air. Trees and water. Laughter carrying across the playground. Children with the freedom to move, explore, imagine and simply be children.

At King’s Oak, we are fortunate to have something increasingly rare in a busy city: a beautiful, green school environment beside the lake, away from heavy traffic and surrounded by nature.

And we use it every day.

Outdoor time is part of how our children grow. Through play, they build friendships, negotiate, solve problems, take healthy risks, develop resilience and discover what they are capable of.

Because an excellent education is not only about what happens behind a desk.

It is about creating the right environment for the whole child to flourish.

💚 King’s Oak British International School
A British education. Space to grow. A childhood to remember.

Freshly pressed uniforms. Squeaky new shoes. By 3.15pm, the polish has worn off but something better has taken its place.

Ask any parent collecting from King’s Oak today and you’ll hear it: “I sat next to someone new.” “My teacher has a dog called Spark.” Small details, but to a child, these are the building blocks of belonging.

Some of our youngest had a wobble at the gate usually harder on the grown-up than the child. Within minutes, most were lost in a new book corner or a friendly face. Our older pupils carried a quieter kind of excitement: new subjects, new responsibilities, one year more grown-up.

Behind every smooth first day is a summer of teachers thinking about how to make each child feel seen in that first hour. That’s the real foundation.

So tonight, skip “how was school?” Try: Who did you sit with at lunch? What made you laugh? That’s where the stories are.

Here’s to a year of curiosity, courage, and community at King’s Oak. 🌟

At King’s Oak Nursery, childhood is something to be treasured. 🌿

A place where children feel safe, happy and known and where learning happens through play, curiosity and real experiences.

Here, little moments become big lessons: sharing a toy, solving a disagreement, trying again when something doesn’t work, getting messy, making friends and discovering “I can do this!”

We nurture confidence, kindness, independence and resilience, while protecting something equally important — the freedom and joy of simply being a child. 💚

There is something special about the first morning of school. 🌿

A new beginning
A new uniform.
A hand held tightly at the gate.
A friend spotted across the playground.
A teacher waiting with a smile.

For some children, Monday will be a return to a place they already know and love. For others, it will be their very first King’s Oak morning.

And by the end of the day, the corridors will have stories again. The playground will be noisy again. Classrooms will be full of questions, ideas and laughter.

That is when a building becomes a school again.

To every child and every family walking through our gates on Monday — we’re ready for you. 💚

Finding our rhythm. Together. 🥁

INSET Week at King’s Oak is about more than preparing classrooms and planning for the year ahead. It is about coming together as a team.

Our drumming session with Mr Mark was a brilliant reminder of what that means.

Different people. Different strengths. Different rhythms.
We listened. We laughed. We adjusted. And eventually, we became one sound.

That is the spirit we are carrying through this week: connection, energy, trust and shared purpose.

Because before we ask our children to learn, grow and flourish together, we build the team that will make it possible. 💚

One team. One rhythm. One shared purpose.

Space changes the way children experience school.

At King’s Oak, we are fortunate to have plenty of it — inside and out.

Generous classrooms and specialist spaces give children room to think, create and learn. Beyond them, our Green Lake campus opens into lawns, trees and nature — space to run, play, explore and simply breathe.

Away from the intensity of busy city traffic, children can enjoy the outdoors within the safe and carefully supervised environment of their school.

We believe this balance matters.

Children need inspiring teaching and high expectations. But they also need light, movement, nature and room to grow.

A school should never feel confined.

Space to learn. Space to breathe. Space to flourish.

There is something special about finding the right school for your child.

A place where they are known not simply by name, but for who they are.
Where they are encouraged to think deeply, aim high and grow in confidence.
Where childhood is valued, while the foundations for an ambitious future are quietly being built.

For 32 years, families have trusted King’s Oak with something incredibly important: their children’s education.

That trust continues to shape the school we are today -warm, ambitious, international and deeply personal.

Perhaps King’s Oak could become part of your child’s story too. 🌿
