Announcement: Registrations Now Open for IELO 2026

We are excited to announce that registrations are now open for the International English Language Olympiad (IELO) 2026.
This prestigious competition invites teams of students to showcase their English proficiency, creativity, and cultural understanding in an international setting.

Great news! The Fourth Edition of the International English Language Olympiad will take place in the wonderful northern Romanian city of Suceava from 6–12 September 2026.
Pre-registrations are open until 15 April, while the final registration deadline is 1 June.
The books for the Project Section of the Olympiad have been selected, and you can find them listed below and on ienglo.com.

As Kırkkonaklar Anatolian High School (Turkey), the unique experience we had at IELO had a lasting impact that strengthened our school’s international outlook. Set against Deva’s rich historical backdrop, the elegant architecture of its churches and castles offered an inspiring learning environment for our students and teachers. Our teams competing in the B1 and B2 categories faced significant challenges in an intense, highly competitive setting; nevertheless, the process became a meaningful opportunity to push beyond academic and personal limits.

Throughout the event, the friendships we built with participants from around the world deepened intercultural understanding and cooperation. Regardless of where we come from, a shared language and common purpose can build genuine bridges across cultures. This experience strengthened our students’ critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, while reaffirming our school’s commitment to international engagement, academic excellence, and inclusive education. We aim to embed the gains from IELO into our curriculum and club activities to reach even more students.
