What impacts does soil fertilization have on greenhouse gas emissions?
To mitigate large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions, soil carbon sequestration has become a very important field of research. The UMR , to which the ECLIPSE project is attached, is studying these themes in Mediterranean and tropical areas.
➡ Studies have shown that atmospheric CO2 reduction could be achieved by increasing soil carbon stock in the upper horizon by 30 cm (Paustian et al. 2016).
💭 However, using these compounds as a fertilizer leads to emissions of greenhouse gases that need to be quantified, what Camille Tourangin and Louis-Axel Edouard Rambaut do at Réunion.
