A breakthrough led by CMU-Q Biological Sciences Professor Ihab Younis has revealed a novel RNA molecule, PINC, that functions as a tumor suppressor in breast cancer cells.
Published in iScience, the multi-year study highlights Carnegie Mellon’s commitment to impactful research and undergraduate mentorship. Several alumni co-authored the paper based on research they began as undergraduates, exemplifying how CMU-Q prepares the next generation of scientists to solve critical global health challenges.
