There is a focused commitment on “Teaching and Learning”, which includes, staff, families and the community and we are proud of what we do. There is an emphasis on mutual support through which we develop our shared professionalism. We are reflective and adaptive in our practice. This is a safe place to make mistakes – making mistakes is a good way to learn! We are happy to try out new ideas, because we want to ensure that every child succeeds. As eager as we want to teach the students, we should be equally eager to learn. Although we are proud of our strengths, we are paying close attention to our weaknesses to ensure that we work together to improve these areas. We have seen much growth in the school from 2012 to date and the increase in numbers has given us validation that although we still have areas to improve, we are doing a good job in the community and parents are happy to be a part of the Edison family. We look forward to building a great relationship with all students and parents. We are committed to preparing all students to become lifelong learners contributing to a global community. We hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and we hope to install a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling. So much happens in an academic year. It is extremely important the keep in mind that each child will progress at his or her own rate, acquiring skills as he or she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always maintain a priority at Edison International Academy.
