Hadith Of The Day
🔰The Favorite Personality of Ameer al Mu'minin Sayyiduna Ali رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ

عَنِ ابْنِ اَبِیْ مُلَيْكَةَ اَنَّهُ سَمِعَ اِبْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھُمَا يَقُوْلُ: وُضِعَ عُمَرُ عَلٰى سَرِيْرِهٖ فَتَكَنَّفَهُ النَّاسُ يَدْعُوْنَ وَ يُصَلُّوْنَ قَبْلَ اَنْ يُّرْفَعَ وَ اَنَا فِيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يَرُعْنِیْ اِلَّا رَجُلٌ اٰخِذٌ مَّنْكِبِیْ، فَاِذَا عَلِیُّ بْنُ اَبِیْ طَالِبٍ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ فَتَرَحَّمَ عَلٰى عُمَرَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ، وَ قَالَ: مَا خَلَّفْتَ اَحَدًا اَحَبَّ اِلَیَّ اَنْ اَلْقَى اللّٰہَ بِمِثْلِ عَمَلِهٖ مِنْكَ.

(Sahih Bukhari: Hadith No 3685)

Translation:
Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaikah stated that he heard Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ عَنْهُمَا say: "When Ameer al Mu'minin Sayyiduna Umar ibn al Khattab رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was placed on his bier after his martyrdom, people gathered around his blessed body and began supplicating to Allah for him and seeking forgiveness on his behalf. His blessed body had not yet been lifted, and I was also present there. In that state, someone suddenly placed his hand on my shoulder. I looked and saw that it was Ameer al Mu'minin Sayyiduna Ali رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ. He then prayed for Allah's mercy upon Sayyiduna Umar al Faruq al A'zam رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ and, addressing his blessed body, said: You have not left behind anyone after you whom, upon seeing him, I would wish to meet Allah while performing deeds like his deeds."

🔰The Prophetic Supplication for Sayyiduna Umar ibn al Khattab رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ

عَنْ عَبْدِاللّٰہِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ عَنْهُمَا: اَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ ضَرَبَ صَدْرَ عُمَرَ بنِ الْخَطَّابِ بَيْدِهٖ حِيْنَ اَسْلَمَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَّهُوَ يَقُوْلُ: اَللّٰهُمَّ اَخْرِجْ مَا فِیْ صَدْرِهٖ مِنْ غِلٍّ وَّاَبْدِلْهٗ اِيْمَانًا يَقُوْلُ ذٰلِکَ ثَلاَثاً.

(Al Mustadrak Ala Sahihain: Hadith 4548)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umer رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ عَنْهُمَا narrated that: "When Sayyiduna Umar ibn al Khattab رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ embraced Islam, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ struck his chest three times with his noble hand and supplicated: O Allah! Remove the resentment (the remaining effect of his former hostility) that is in Umar’s chest, and replace it with faith. The Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ repeated these words three times."

🔰Guidance to Remain Firm in Prayer During Times of Trials

عَنْ قَبِيْصَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: يَكُوْنُ عَلَيْكُمْ اُمَرَآءُ مِنْۢ بَعْدِیْ يُؤَخِّرُوْنَ الصَّلَاةَ، فَہِی لَكُمْ وَهِیَ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَصَلُّوْا مَعَهُمْ مَّا صَلَّوُا الْقِبْلَةَ.

(Sunan Abi Dawud: Hadith No 434)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Qabisah bin Waqqas رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrated that Rasulullah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "After me, there will come rulers over you who will delay the prayers. Such prayers will be a source of reward for you, while for them they will be a cause of burden and accountability. Therefore, continue to perform the prayer with them as long as they keep praying facing the Qiblah."

🔰Injustice in Society: The First Step Toward the Decline of Nations

عَنْ عَآئِشَةَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہُ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: اِنَّمَا اَهْلَكَ الَّذِيْنَ قَبْلَكُمْ اَنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا اِذَا سَرَقَ فِيْهِمُ الشَّرِيْفُ تَرَكُوْهٗ، وَ اِذَا سَرَقَ فِيْهِمُ الضَّعِيْفُ اَقَامُوْا عَلَيْهِ الْحَدَّ.

(Sahih Bukhari: Hadith No 3475)

Translation:
Umm al Mu'minin Hazrat Sayyidatuna Aishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا narrates that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "The nations before you were destroyed because whenever a powerful and influential person among them committed theft, they would let him go; but when a weak person committed the same crime, they would enforce the law upon him with full severity."

🔰The Prophetic Supplication Seeking Protection from the Punishment of the Grave, Trials, and Debt

عَنْ عَآئِشَةَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا اَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْعُوْ فِی الصَّلَاةِ: اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيْحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَاَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ،اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ. فَقَالَ لَهٗ قَآئِلٌ: مَا أَ كْثَرَ مَا تَسْتَعِيْذُ مِنَ الْمَغْرَمِ؟ فَقَالَ: اِنَّ الرَّجُلَ اِذَا غَرِمَ حَدَّثَ فَكَذَبَ، وَوَعَدَ فَاَخْلَفَ.

(Sunan An Nasa'i: Hadith No 1310)

Translation:
Umm al Mu'minin Sayyidatuna Aisha al Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا narrated that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ would supplicate in his prayer: "O Allah, I seek Your protection from the punishment of the grave. I seek Your protection from the trial of the False Messiah (Al Masih ad Dajjal). I seek Your protection from the trials of life and death. O Allah, I seek Your protection from sin and debt. A man then asked, Why do you seek so much protection from debt? The Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ replied: Indeed, when a person is burdened with debt, he speaks and tells lies, and when he makes a promise, he breaks it."

🔰The Reality of the Punishment of the Grave and the Importance of Seeking Protection from It

عَنْ عَآئِشَةَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، عَذَابُ الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ. قَالَتْ عَآئِشَةُ: فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّی صَلَاةًۢ بَعْدُ اِلَّا تَعَوَّذَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ.

(Sunan An Nasa'i: Hadith No 1309)

Translation:
Umm al Mu'minin (Mother of the Believers), Hazrat Sayyidatuna Aisha Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا narrates: "I asked the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ about the punishment of the grave. He صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ replied, 'Yes, the punishment of the grave is true. Hazrat Sayyidatuna Aisha Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا further said: 'After that, I never saw the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ perform any prayer except that he would seek refuge from the punishment of the grave during it."

🔰Five Factors That Help a Person Remain Mindful of the Hereafter

عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ اَرْقَمَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰى عَنْهُ مَرْفُوْعًا: خَمْسٌ مَّنْ اُوْتِيَهُنَّ لَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلٰى تَرْكِ عَمَلِ الْاٰخِرَةِ: زَوْجَةٌ صَالِحَةٌ، وَ بَنُوْنَ اَبْرَارٌ، وَ حُسْنُ مُخَالَطَةِ النَّاسِ، وَ مَعِيْشَةٌ فِیْ بَلَدِهٖ، وَ حُبُّ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ.

(Musnad al Firdaws: Hadith No 2976)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰى عَنْهُ narrates in a marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ) report: "There are five things which, if a person is blessed with them, he cannot neglect preparing for the Hereafter. These five things are: (1) A righteous wife. (2) Righteous children. (3) Good conduct and pleasant dealings with people. (4) Earning a livelihood in one's own homeland. (5) Love for the family of Muhammad ﷺ (Al e Muhammad ﷺ)."

🔰The Person with the Worst Status Among People on the Day of Judgment

عَنْ عَائِشَۃَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: اِنَّ شَرَّ النَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً عِنْدَ اللّٰہِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ وَّدَعَهٗ، اَوْ تَرَكَهُ النَّاسُ اتِّقَآءَ فُحْشِهٖ.

(Sahih Muslim: Hadith No 6596)

Translation:
It is narrated by Umm al Mu'minin (Mother of the Believers), Sayyidatuna Aisha al Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "On the Day of Judgment, the person who will have one of the worst ranks in the sight of Allah will be the one whom people avoid or keep away from because they fear his abusive, rude, or foul speech."

🔰Prohibition of Disparaging the Noble Companions (رضوان الله علیہم اجمعین)

عَنْ اَبِیْ سَعِيْدٍ اَلْخُدْرِیِّ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا تَسُبُّوْا اَصْحَابِیْ، فَلَوْ اَنَّ اَحَدَكُمْ اَنْفَقَ مِثْلَ اُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا، مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ اَحَدِهِمْ وَلَا نَصِيْفَهٗ.

(Sahih Bukhari: Hadith No 3673)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Saeed Khidri رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that the Prophet Muhammad صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "Do not speak ill of my Companions, for if one of you were to spend gold equal to the mountain of Uhud in the way of Allah Almighty, it would not equal even one mudd (a measure equivalent to the amount that can be held in two joined hands) of any one of my Companions, nor even half of that."

🔰The Beautiful Harmony of Islam, Faith, and Taqwa

عَنْ اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُوْلُ: اَلْاِسْلَامُ عَلَانِيَةٌ، وَ الْاِيْمَانُ فِی الْقَلْبِ. قَالَ: ثُمَّ يُشِيْرُ بِيَدِهٖ اِلٰى صَدْرِهٖ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ يَقُوْلُ: اَلتَّقْوٰى هَاهُنَا، اَلتَّقْوٰى هَاهُنَا.

(Musnad Ahmad: Hadith No 12381)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that the Messenger of Allah صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ used to say: "Islam is the name of outward actions, while faith (Iman) resides in the heart. Then he ﷺ would point with his blessed hand towards his blessed chest (where the heart is) three times and say: Taqwa is here, Taqwa is here, Taqwa is here."
