🔰The Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ The Highest Standard of Gratitude in Worship

عَنْ عَآئِشَةَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ اِذَا صَلّٰى قَامَ حَتّٰى تَفَطَّرَ رِجْلَاهٗ، قَالَتْ عَآئِشَةُ: يَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ، اَ تَصْنَعُ هٰذَا وَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَاَخَّرَ؟ فَقَالَ: يَاعَآئِشَةُ: اَفَلَا اَكُوْنُ عَبْدًا شَكُوْرًا.

(Sahih Muslim: Number of Hadith 7126)

Translation:
The Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatuna Aishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا, narrated: "When the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ offered prayer, he would stand (for a very long time) until his blessed feet would become swollen. Sayyidatuna Aishah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا (said that I) asked: O Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ! Why do you do this, even though your past and future sins have been forgiven because of you? He صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: O Aishah! Should I not be a grateful servant (of ALLAH the most blessed and merciful)?"

🔰Peace be upon the one who lived like a dervish despite having kingship

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللّٰہِ ابْنِ مَسْعُوْدٍ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: نَامَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ عَلٰى حَصِيْرٍ فَقَامَ وَقَدْ اَثَّرَ فِیْ جَنْبِهٖ فَقُلْنَا: يَارَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ! لَوِ اتَّخَذْنَا لَكَ وِطَآءً فَقَالَ: مَا لِیْ وَمَا لِلدُّنْيَا مَا اَنَا فِیْ الدُّنْيَا اِلَّا كَرَاکِبٍ اِسْتَظَلَّ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ ثُمَّ رَاحَ وَتَرَكَهَا.

(Sunan Tirmidhi: Number of Hadith 2377)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that: "The Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ was resting on a mat. When he صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ awoke from sleep, the marks of the mat had appeared on his صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ side. We said, O Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ! It would have been better if we had spread something softer for you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. He صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: What have I to do with the world? My example and that of the world is like a traveller who sits under a tree to seek shade, then leaves from there and moves on, leaving the tree behind in the same place."

🔰The Testimony of Sayyidah Khadijah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا Regarding the Noble Qualities of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

عَنْ عَآئِشَةَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا اُمِّ المُؤْمِنِيْنَ اَنَّهَا قَالَتْ...قَالَتْ خَدِيْجَةُ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا: وَاللّٰہِ مَا يُخْزِيْكَ اللّٰہُ اَبَدًا، اِنَّكَ لَتَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ، وَ تَحْمِلُ الْكَلَّ، وَ تَكْسِبُ الْمَعْدُوْمَ، وَ تَقْرِی الضَّيْفَ، وَ تُعِيْنُ عَلٰى نَوَآئِبِ الْحَقِّ.

(Sahih Bukhari: Number of Hadith 6982)

Translation:
The Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatuna Aishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا, states that... the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatuna Khadijah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْھَا, said (while mentioning the noble qualities of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ): "By ALLAH! ALLAH will never disgrace you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. Indeed, you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ maintain ties of kinship, you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ bear the burden of the weak, you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ earn and provide for the needy and destitute, you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ are unmatched in hospitality, and you صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ help people in matters of truth."

Exclusion:

🔰The Holy Qur’an: The Greatest Miracle of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

عَنْ اَبِیْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ عَنِ النَّبِیِّ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَا مِنَ الْاَ نْبِيَآءِ نَبِیٌّ اِلَّا اُعْطِیَ مِنَ الْاٰ يَاتِ مَا مِثْلُهٗ اٰمَنَ عَلَيْهِ الْبَشَرُ وَاِنَّمَا كَانَ الَّذِیْ اُوْتِيْتُ وَحْيًا اَوْحَاهُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیَّ فَاَرْجُوْ اَنِّیْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ تَابِعًا يَّوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

(Sahih Bukhari: Number of Hadith 7274)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrated that the Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "There is no prophet among the prophets who was not given some signs (miracles) by which people came to believe, and the great miracle that I have been given is the Holy Qur’an, which ALLAH sent towards me. Therefore, I hope that on the Day of Judgment, my followers will be greater in number than the followers of all the other prophets."

Exclusion:

🔰The Five Rivers of Mercy Flowing Wah Wah!

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللّٰہِ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: عَطِشَ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَالنَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ رِكْوَةٌ فَتَوَضَّأَ، فَجَهِشَ النَّاسُ نَحْوَهٗ، فَقَالَ: مَا لَكُمْ، قَالُوْا: لَيْسَ عِنْدَنَا مَآءٌ نَتَوَضَّأُ وَلَا نَشْرَبُ اِلَّا مَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهٗ فِی الرَّكْوَةِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَآءُ يَثُوْرُ بَيْنَ اَصَابِعِهٖ كَاَمْثَالِ الْعُيُوْنِ فَشَرِبْنَا وَتَوَضَّأْنَا.

(Sahih Bukhari: Number of Hadith 3576)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُمَا narrates that: "On the day of Hudaybiyyah, the people became thirsty, while there was a leather container of water in front of the Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. He صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ asked, What is the matter? The people said, The water that is in front of you is the only water we have; we have no other water for performing ablution, nor for drinking. The Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ placed his blessed hand into the container. Water began to flow from between his blessed fingers like springs. We all drank the water and also performed ablution with it."

Exclusion:

🔰The Miraculous Excellence of the Knowledge and Speech of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ یَقُوْلُ: قَامَ فِیْنَا النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ مَقَامًا، فَاَخْبَرَنَا عَنْ بَدْءِ الْخَلْقِ حَتّٰی دَخَلَ اَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ مَنَازِلَهُمْ وَاَهْلُ النَّارِ مَنَازِلَهُمْ، حَفِظَ ذَلِكَ مَنْ حَفِظَهٗ وَنَسِیَهٗ مَنْ نَّسِیَهٗ.

(Sahih Bukhari: Number of Hadith 3192)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that: "Once, the Noble Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ stood on the pulpit and delivered a sermon to us, informing us about the beginning of creation. He continued until the people of Paradise would enter their places and the people of Hell would reach their abodes (he explained the entire details up to that point). Whoever remembered it (i.e., this Hadith), remembered it, and whoever forgot it, forgot it."

Exclusion:
(Sahih Bukhari: Book of the Beginning of Creation, Chapter: What has been narrated regarding the Saying of Allah Almighty: “And He is the One Who begins the creation and then repeats it,” Hadith No. 3192)

🔰The Blessed Character and Conduct of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللّٰہِ بْنِ اَوْفٰی رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ الذِّكْرَ، وَ يُقِلُّ اللَّغْوَ، وَ يُطِيْلُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَ يُقَصِّرُ الْخُطْبَةَ، وَ لَا يَأْنَفُ اَنْ يَّمْشِیَ مَعَ الْاَرْمَلَةِ وَ الْمِسْكِيْنِ فَيَقْضِیَ لَهُ الْحَاجَةَ.

(Sunan An Nasa'i: Number of Hadith 1414)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Oofi رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that: "The Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ would frequently engage in the remembrance of ALLAH and would avoid unnecessary (more than what was needed) talk. He صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ would make the prayer lengthy and the sermon brief. Moreover, the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ did not consider it beneath his dignity to walk with widows and the poor in order to fulfil their needs."

🔰The Vastness of the Knowledge of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

عَنْ اَبِیْ ذَرٍّ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: تَرَکْنَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَا طَآئِرٌ یُّقَلِّبُ جَنَاحَیْہِ فِی الْھَوَآءِ اِلَّا وَھُوَ یُذَکِّرُنَا مِنْہُ عِلْمًا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا بَقِیَ شَیْئٌ یُّقَرِّبُ مِنَ الْجَنَّۃِ وَ یُبَاعِدُ مِنَ النَّارِ، اِلَّا وَقَدْ بُیِّنَ لَکُمْ.

(Al Mu’jam al Kabir by al Tabarani: Number of Hadith 1647)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Zarr Jundub bin Junadah Ghifari رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that: "We left the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ in such a state that not even a bird moved its wings in the air without the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ teaching us some knowledge about it. The Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: Everything that brings you closer to Paradise and keeps you away from Hell has been made clear to you."

🔰What an Inspiring Intercession Yours Is! Wah Wah!

عَنْ اَبِیْ مُوْسَى الْاَشْعَرِیِّ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: خُيِّرْتُ بَيْنَ الشَّفَاعَةِ وَ بَيْنَ اَنْ يَّدْخُلَ نِصْفُ اُمَّتِیَ الْجَنَّةَ، فَاخْتَرْتُ الشَّفَاعَةَ، لِاَنَّهَا اَعَمُّ وَاَكْفٰی، اَتُرَوْنَهَا لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ؟ لَا، وَلٰـكِنَّهَا لِلْمُذْنِبِيْنَ الْخَطَّائِيْنَ الْمُتَلَوِّثِيْنَ.

(Sunan Ibn Majah: Number of Hadith 4311)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Musa al Ash‘ari رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates that the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَآلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "ALLAH the most blessed and merciful gave me the choice of either accepting intercession or having half of my Ummah enter Paradise. I chose intercession because it is more general and more beneficial. Do you think that my intercession is (only) for pure and righteous Muslims? No, rather, it is for those sinners who are stained with sins and are greatly sinful."

🔰The Fragrance of the Blessed Sweat of the Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

عَنْ اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ قَالَ: دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَامْ عِنْدَنَا، فَعَرِقَ، وَجَآءَتْ اُمِّیْ بِقَارُوْرَةٍ، فَجَعَلَتْ تَسْلِتُ الْعَرَقَ فِيْهَا، فَاسْتَيْقَظَ النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا اُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ، مَا هٰذَا الَّذِیْ تَصْنَعِيْنَ قَالَتْ: هٰذَا عَرَقُكَ نَجْعَلُهٗ فِیْ طِيْبِنَا، وَهُوَ مِنْ اَطْيَبِ الطِّيْبِ.

(Sahih Muslim: Number of Hadith 6055)

Translation:
Hazrat Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رَضِیَ اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates: "The Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ came to our home and lay down to take a midday rest. He began to perspire, so my mother brought a bottle and started collecting his blessed sweat (from the leather mattress on which he was lying) with her finger. The Messenger of ALLAH صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ woke up and said, Umm e Sulaim! What are you doing? She replied, This is your blessed sweat. We will add it to our perfume, and this (worldly) fragrance is better than every other fragrance."
