Nurture that joy and wonder they're born with—keep the music going! 🎶
They're not misbehaving. They need help regulating.
When children can co-regulate with their grownups (parents, teachers, etc.), they focus at a faster rate, and take those self-regulation strategies with them as they grow. Here are our favorite ways to co-regulate with children:
1. Bounce or tap their bodies to the beat (if they don't want to be held or touched, that's OK. Model movements for them).
2. Free dance to music—they want to showcase their own moves!
3. Try to follow their movements and have them follow yours. This builds trust as you synchronize heartbeats and brainwaves.
Young children NEED connection to focus, learn, and thrive. Let's do this.

By 18 months, most toddlers understand object permanence (even if they can't see an object, it still exists) which plays a huge role in reducing anxiety with childcare dropoff, sitters, and any situation where mom or dad are not visible. Musical peekaboo with scarf play is a fun and effective way to help reach that developmental goal!

It starts with the heartbeat. When we get to the root of what soothes us, it's rhythm. From infancy on.
👇Group drum play is multisensory magic, and it's directly related to skills little ones need for success in school.
1. Listening Skills: When children drum along to a song, they're listening for the beat and mimicking it.
2. Social Cooperation: They're also listening to each other, respecting others' creative choices, and creating something together.
3. Pattern Detection: 1-2, 1-2-3....mathematical skills are on fire here. No worksheets necessary.
