With the diversification and intensification of sport activities and participation of the Qatar National Teams in international, regional, and continental competitions in the mid 1970's, the need for the establishment of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) was imminent. It was consequently founded on 14 March 1979, and joined the International, Continental and Regional Committees as follows:

1980:

International Olympic Committee.
1981: Olympic Council of Asia.
1982: Arab Sports Games Federation. The first (QOC) Board of Directors were formed as follows:

خلال حفل «مسيرة وإنجاز 2026».. اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية تكرم 102 من موظفيها

بحضور سعادة الشيخ جوعان بن حمد آل ثاني، رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية، نظمت اللجنة الأولمبية القطرية اليوم حفل «مسيرة وإنجاز 2026»، بقاعة لوسيل في مقر اللجنة، وذلك احتفاءً بموظفيها وموظفاتها، وتقديرًا لمسيرتهم وعطائهم وتميزهم، وحرصهم على مواصلة التطور والتعلم.

من أسياد الدوحة 2006 بدأت الحكاية… رحلةٌ صنعت جيلاً من الأبطال، ورسّخت فينا أن الطموح القطري لا يعرف المستحيل.. 🇶🇦💪

واليوم، وبعد عشرين عاماً، يستعيد أسطورة الأدعم معتز برشم ذكريات البداية، بينما تتجه الرحلة نحو ناغويا 2026… بنفس الروح، والعزيمة، والشغف، لكتابة فصلٍ جديد من المجد.. 🇶🇦🙌

🎥📚 من قلب مكتبة قطر الوطنية، الصرح الثقافي والمعرفي الرائد، صُوّرت هذه المشاهد في أجواءٍ تجسد أن الرياضة والثقافة وجهان لعملة واحدة .
