Our Grade 11 science students recently completed the IB Collaborative Sciences Project, working in teams to tackle a series of Taskmaster-inspired challenges. From engineering solutions and problem-solving under pressure to testing ideas and adapting when things didn't go to plan, students had to rely on communication, creativity, and teamwork every step of the way.
The project encouraged them to think like scientists while developing the collaboration skills that are essential both in science and beyond the classroom.

Over the past few weeks, parents, students, and staff came together through our World Café and Strategic Plan Days to reflect on what helps learners flourish, strengthens belonging and wellbeing, deepens partnerships with families, and creates a school experience where every learner feels known, supported, and able to grow.
We are grateful to all those who shared their perspectives, experiences, and reflections. The insights that emerged from these conversations will continue to inform our priorities and guide our work as we look ahead to the next school year.

Behind every TEDx event is a team of passionate people working quietly behind the scenes to turn ideas into reality.
Our TEDxISL Qatar Youth volunteers are more than just helpers; they are the energy, creativity, and dedication that make this event possible. From organizing and planning to supporting speakers and creating meaningful experiences, every contribution matters.
This year, alongside our theme “The Ripple Effect,” we’re also introducing the Ripple Corner, a space open to everyone in the ISL Qatar community to share thoughts, ideas, reflections, or messages on sticky notes. Because sometimes, even the smallest idea can inspire something much bigger.
Thank you to every volunteer helping create ripples that extend far beyond the stage.

Global Action Days at ISL Qatar – “Plant & Eat” 🌱
Our students explored how food connects to culture, sustainability, and the environment through a range of hands-on, inquiry-based activities. From creating sustainable versions of heritage meals and tracking where food comes from, to calculating carbon emissions, debating energy use, and designing more sustainable food systems, learning came to life across the school.
Students also examined food webs, reflected on global food security, made personal sustainability pledges, and even grew their own edible plants.
Through these experiences, we continued to live out our Eco Code and strengthen our commitment as a Green Flag school, empowering our community to make more sustainable choices every day.

What a beautiful morning we shared together on Sunday! Our Grade 2 Earth Day picnic brought families, students, and teachers together to celebrate our planet in a meaningful and joyful way.
Through hands-on activities, creative experiences, and simple moments of connection, students explored how small actions can make a big difference. It was wonderful to see everyone engaging, creating, and enjoying nature while being mindful of our goal of a plastic-free, sustainable gathering.
This experience reflected our learning in How We Organize Ourselves, as students saw how people come together, share responsibility, and take action within a community.
Thank you for your presence, your support, and for being part of this special moment with your children.

Did you know that creating a beat or adding a simple background sound can completely change the way a story feels? In their Music class, our learners explored exactly that, recording short stories and experimenting with sound to bring their ideas to life.
In other learning moments, students were challenged to plan, collaborate, and create their own systems to solve real-life problems. Some designed structures strong enough for a teacher to sit on, learning through teamwork how roles, clear steps, and communication help a system work.
At the same time, children are finding their voice as they share ideas and build confidence in expressing their thinking. Their love for books continues to grow, and welcoming siblings as mystery readers has brought real excitement and a sense of wonder to their reading experiences.
