Oryx International School founded in January 2016, is an independent day school. There is a designated library and dining room.
It is managed by @Global.Orbital.Education, for boys and girls aged 4 to 18, and is a school dedicated to the employees of @QatarAirways The school opened in January 2016 and provides a first-class environment in which teaching and learning can flourish. The curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum adapted to meet the needs of a wide range of nationalities. The school has specialist
science and information technology laboratories as well as art, music, and physical education facilities. The spaces are light, bright and welcoming, providing a stimulating environment for young minds. We use the latest technology to support learning, classrooms are fitted with interactive white boards and the primary students have access to computers during specified lessons. We also encourage learning through play, so our younger students have access to a range of traditional play equipment and activities. The secondary school starts in Year 7, with the two-year I/GCSE beginning in Year 10 and finishing in Year 11 with A-Level and BTEC courses being completed in Years 12 and 13. For our curriculum information head to our Curriculum menu item and select the year group you are interested in. Facilities for physical education are excellent with an air-conditioned indoor sports hall and outdoor sports facilities for pitch and court games. In order to provide the highest standards of teaching, we offer an excellent staff to student ratio. Our class sizes are capped at 20 students in Reception and 25 in other year groups. Our British curriculum teaching staff are highly qualified and bring many years of teaching expertise, with enhanced knowledge of the English Curriculum and experience of the additional challenge of teaching in an international setting. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes will have the additional benefit of full time Teaching Assistants in each class, while Years 3 to 6 have daily support from a Teaching Assistant on a rotating basis. These assistants support the academic and social development of the children, which is especially important when their native languages are diverse. Our careful and child-centred approach ensures that all students progress well and benefit from being part of this international community. Oryx International School is:
