📢 ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the current situation and in compliance with the advisory from the Ministry of Interior – Qatar, all karate training scheduled for March 6, 2026 is CANCELLED until further notice.

This decision is made to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, parents, and members of the JKA Philippines – Qatar Chapter.

We kindly ask everyone to stay safe, remain vigilant, and follow official government updates and guidance.

Further announcements regarding the resumption of training will be posted on this page.

Let’s be honest—promoting someone before they’re ready doesn’t help them grow.

No Sensei enjoys telling a student they’re not ready for a belt exam. It’s uncomfortable. But a real teacher stands firm, because that’s where the lesson is. If we lower the standard just to make someone feel good, we’re not teaching value—we’re just handing out rank.

Simply showing up isn’t enough. Effort matters. Improvement matters. Mastery matters.

In JKA, we teach the material and set clear standards. Students practice, study, and return ready to demonstrate what they’ve learned. Promotion should only come after the work has truly been done. That’s how achievement works—inside the dojo and in life.

There are no participation trophies in real traditional dojos. We challenge students to be better than they were yesterday. Holding that line builds something far more important than a belt: resilience. An indomitable spirit.

That spirit carries students further than they ever imagined—not just in Karate, but in everything they pursue.

It’s easy to recognize when a black belt was given instead of earned. The fundamentals aren’t solid. The real tragedy is that many of those students could have achieved greatness if stronger standards had guided them.

If we’re afraid to say, “You’re not ready yet,” we’re choosing comfort over character. True confidence comes from knowing you earned your place.
