Olive International School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour and a strong spirit of unity. The celebrations reflected the school’s commitment to instilling national pride and nurturing the values of unity, integrity, responsibility, and service among its students and staff.
The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag at the Al Thumama Campus by the Chairman, Mr. Davis Edukulathur. Addressing the Olive community, he emphasised the school’s mission of nurturing responsible learners and its vision of shaping compassionate, forward-thinking global citizens through unity and progressive education. Staff members from the Abu Hamour and Nuaija campuses joined the celebration at Al Thumama, demonstrating solidarity and a shared sense of purpose.
Simultaneously, at the Umm Salal Ali Campus, staff members from the Kharaitiyat Campus gathered for the flag-hoisting ceremony, with the National Flag being hoisted by the Principal, Mr. Jacob Mathew. In his address, the Principal highlighted the core theme and focus of India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations: “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat @2047”, alongside the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram.
He spoke about the significance of Yuva Shakti, recognising the vital role of India’s youth in driving progress through science, innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He also highlighted the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, which aspires to see India emerge as a fully developed nation by the centenary of its independence in 2047. The commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram further honoured the national song that inspired generations during India’s freedom movement and continues to symbolise patriotism and national pride.
Adding to the patriotic atmosphere was a vibrant cultural programme presented by students and staff, featuring patriotic songs, dances, and performances that celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage, unity in diversity, and inspiring freedom struggle.
The celebrations concluded with a renewed commitment to the values that define both India’s legacy and Olive International School’s vision—unity, education, integrity, and progress for all.
