The Australian Ambassador and CLD launched a 'Guide to Fintech Regulation in Australia and the Gulf Region,’ at the Australian embassy in Qatar. The guide was funded by the Council on Australian and Arab Relations in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The launch was attended by senior representatives from the Qatar FinTech Hub, Qatar Central Bank, and the Qatar Financial Centre. Authored and launched by CLD Researcher Dr. Andrew Dahdal

A new study from Qatar University’s Centre for Law and Development (QU-CLD) at the College of Law connects the damage caused by verifying proof-of-work blockchain to climate change and human mortality. Policymakers have already responded, leading ‘miners’ to relocate to ‘friendlier’ countries.

Authors of the study are Dr Jon Truby, Dr Rafael Dean Brown, Dr Andrew Dahdal and Dr Imad Ibrahim.
