The Australian Ambassador and CLD launched a 'Guide to Fintech Regulation in Australia and the Gulf Region,’ at the Australian embassy in Qatar. The guide was funded by the Council on Australian and Arab Relations in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. A new study from Qatar University’s Centre for Law and Development (QU-CLD) at the College of Law connects the damage caused by verifying proof-of-work blockchain to climate change and human mortality. Policymakers have already responded, leading ‘miners’ to relocate to ‘friendlier’ countries.
