IIS is Back to Life! : Ideal Indian School reopened today after the summer holidays, filling the campus with excitement, energy, and anticipation among students and faculty. Both morning and evening session students were warmly welcomed back as the school came alive with cheerful faces, familiar voices, and the joy of reuniting with friends and teachers. Students enthusiastically shared their holiday experiences and cherished memories with their friends, bringing a lively and joyful atmosphere to the classrooms.
Teachers, meanwhile, put into practice the new knowledge, strategies, and skills acquired during the Teachers’ Orientation Programme, engaging students in meaningful and enriching classroom activities.

The day began with students arriving in their smart formal uniforms, eager to reconnect with their friends, meet their teachers, and embark on another exciting academic journey. Acting Principal Mr. Mohammad Azam Khan extended his warm wishes to all students and teachers for a successful academic term ahead.

IIS EDUCONNECT 2026 - Knowledge, Practice, Collaboration and Preparation : The final day of the Teachers’ Refresher Course 2026–2027 brought together learning, reflection and practical preparation for the new academic year. The day began with meetings with the Heads of Sections (HOS), where teachers reviewed academic priorities, expectations and organisational requirements. The General Session for Classes 9–12 was conducted by Mr. Harish Pandey, First Secretary- Indain Embassy, Qatar, on the theme “Knowledge and Practice,” following the prayer and translation by Dr. Sheikh Ehteshamuddin (GS). Mr. Pandey placed strong emphasis on the importance of reading as a lifelong habit and the continuous pursuit of knowledge. Drawing from his own life experiences, he shared how developing a regular reading habit contributed to his personal and professional growth. He emphasised that knowledge becomes wisdom when it is applied in the right way and at the right place.

Another significant message from the session was the importance of providing children with humane and meaningful learning experiences. Mr. Pandey encouraged teachers to view technology as a tool that should support learning rather than replace human interaction, relationships and real-life experiences. He urged teachers to create opportunities for students to read, think, interact, experience and connect with the world around them, rather than becoming overly dependent on technology.

The day also included academic preparation, organisation of answer papers and records, and classroom arrangements, ensuring that teachers and learning spaces were ready for the new academic year. The final day brought the five-day programme to a meaningful close, leaving teachers with renewed perspectives and a clear reminder that continuous learning, thoughtful application and human connection remain at the heart of education.

5 DAY programme offered opportunities to learn about language across subjects, teacher well-being, classroom management, HPC and NCF 2023, life skills, oral health, technology and AI, healthy lifestyles, demonstration classes, and the connection between knowledge and practice. What made the journey meaningful was not simply the range of topics, but the opportunity to pause, reflect and look at everyday work through fresh perspectives.

IIS EDUCONNECT 2026 - Learning by Doing: Healthy Teachers and Effective Teaching : Day 4 of the Teachers’ Refresher Course 2026–2027 placed a strong emphasis on practical learning, demonstration classes, teacher wellness and technology-enabled teaching.

A major feature of the day was the organisation of Demo Classes for teachers of different sections. These demonstration lessons created opportunities for teachers to observe classroom practices, teaching techniques and instructional strategies in action. Such experiences encourage professional dialogue and allow teachers to reflect on how effective strategies can be adapted to their own classrooms. Teachers of Classes 5–8 and KG (Evening Session) participated in a General Session on “Healthy Life Style for Teachers,” conducted by Mr. Imransab Hebswar, Wellness Instructor & Asst. cultural Secretary , PTA following the prayer with translation by Mr. Muhammed Umer (GS).

The session highlighted the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices to support physical, mental and emotional well-being. As teachers play a demanding and influential role in the lives of students, maintaining personal health and wellness is essential for sustaining energy, enthusiasm and professional effectiveness. The second session for the group focused on “Teams & AI Use in Effective Teaching Learning,” conducted by Mr. Mandale Dutta. Teachers had another opportunity to explore the role of technology and AI in enhancing teaching-learning processes and professional collaboration. The day therefore brought together three important dimensions of professional development:

1. Learning through demonstration
2. Maintaining teacher health and wellness
3. Using technology and AI effectively in education

The practical nature of the sessions encouraged teachers to move beyond theoretical understanding and consider how new ideas could be implemented in their actual classrooms. Day 4 concluded with teachers reflecting on an important message: effective teaching begins with effective preparation, continuous learning and personal well-being.

IIS EDUCONNECT 2026 : The third day of the Teachers’ Refresher Course continued with a diverse range of professional learning opportunities, focusing on life skills, technology integration, Artificial Intelligence, health awareness and effective teaching practices.

The day began with a thought-provoking General Session for teachers of Classes 9–12 on “Life Skills in Education.” The session was conducted by Ms. Bhawna Vijaykumar Sonkamble, Principal, Loyola International School, following the prayer with translation by Mr. Naseem Javed (GS). The session highlighted the importance of integrating life skills into education so that students are prepared not only for academic success but also to face real-life situations with confidence. Skills such as communication, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, adaptability and responsible behaviour play an important role in developing confident, capable and responsible individuals.

An important component of the day was an online workshop conducted by the Oral Health Ambassadors on the topic ‘Safe Sport…Safe Smile,’ organised by the Ministry of Education, Qatar. The session provided an opportunity for teachers to enhance their awareness of oral health and understand the importance of promoting healthy oral hygiene practices among students. The participation in this workshop reflected the school’s commitment to supporting the overall health and well-being of learners alongside their academic development.

Alongside the General Sessions, teachers of the other sections participated in departmental meetings and demo classes, providing valuable opportunities for practical learning, classroom observation, professional discussion and collaboration. These activities enabled teachers to exchange ideas and reflect on effective practices that could be incorporated into their own teaching.

The second major professional session introduced teachers to an increasingly important area of contemporary education: “Teams & AI Use in Effective Teaching Learning.” The session was conducted by Mr. Mandale Dutta. Teachers were encouraged to explore how digital platforms, collaborative tools and Artificial Intelligence can be used purposefully to enhance the teaching-learning process.

The session encouraged teachers to look at technology not merely as a digital convenience, but as a means of strengthening lesson planning, collaboration, resource development, communication and learner engagement. It also encouraged educators to reflect on the responsible and meaningful use of emerging technologies in education.

The combination of life skills education, oral health awareness, technology integration, AI and practical classroom experiences made Day 3 particularly enriching and relevant to the changing needs of contemporary education. The day reinforced the understanding that a teacher's role extends far beyond delivering academic content. Teachers contribute to the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of learners*, while also continuously updating their own knowledge and skills.

IIS EDUCONNECT 2026 : Strengthening Classroom Practices and Promoting Teacher Well-being : The second day of the Teachers’ Refresher Course 2026–2027 continued with a strong focus on professional development, effective classroom management, language across subjects and teacher well-being.
The morning sessions were organised according to different teaching groups, allowing teachers to engage with topics that were particularly relevant to their grade levels and responsibilities.
Teachers of Classes 5–8 and KG (Evening Session) participated in a General Session on “Language Across the Subjects,” led by Mr. Mohammad Azam Khan, Acting Principal, following the prayer with translation by Mr. Mudassir ul Haque (GS). The session reinforced the understanding that language development is not limited to language classrooms. Every teacher has an important role to play in developing students’ vocabulary, comprehension, communication and ability to express ideas.
Teachers of Classes 1–4 attended a session on “Classroom Management and HPC,” A major component of the session was the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) and its implementation in alignment with the guidelines of NCF 2022.
Dr. Mohammad Sajid Shamim explained the significance of moving beyond traditional assessment practices and documenting the holistic development of learners.Teachers were guided on how to fill and maintain the HPC effectively, The session highlighted that assessment should provide a comprehensive picture of a learner’s development rather than focusing only on academic achievement.
For teachers of Classes 9–12, the morning included departmental meetings, providing a platform for collaborative academic planning and coordination.
The second half of the day brought teachers together once again for further professional reflection. Dr. Nazima Bi Shailkh, Vice Principal (GS) continued the important discussion on “Teachers’ Well-being and Work-Life Balance: The Foundation of Excellence.” The session encouraged teachers to look beyond professional performance and recognise the connection between personal well-being, emotional balance and effectiveness in the classroom.
The day also provided valuable opportunities for departmental interaction and collaborative planning, enabling teachers to share ideas, discuss challenges and prepare themselves for the academic year ahead.
Day 2 was therefore a blend of professional learning, classroom management, communication skills, collaboration and personal well-being—all essential components of effective teaching.
The day ended with teachers carrying forward practical ideas and renewed motivation to make their classrooms more engaging, organised and supportive spaces for learning.

IIS EDUCONNECT- The Teachers’ Refresher Course Begins: The Teachers’ Refresher Course 2026–2027 at Ideal Indian School, Doha commenced on Sunday, 23 August 2026, with a series of purposeful and engaging sessions designed to strengthen teachers’ professional knowledge, well-being and classroom practices.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Mohammad Sajid Shamim, who ensured the smooth planning and ex*****on of the day’s sessions and activities. The programme brought teachers together in a collaborative environment focused on professional learning, reflection and preparation for the academic year ahead.

The day began with a General Session for teachers of Classes 9–12, which included a prayer with translation by Dr. Sheikh Ehteshamuddin (GS), followed by an insightful session led by Mr. Mohammad Azam Khan, Acting Principal, on the theme “Language Across the Subjects.”

The session highlighted the importance of language as a powerful tool for learning across all disciplines. Teachers were encouraged to recognise that language development is not confined to language classrooms; rather, every subject teacher plays an important role in developing students’ vocabulary, comprehension, communication and ability to express ideas effectively.

At the same time, teachers of Classes 5–8 and KG (Evening Session) and Classes 1–4 and KG (Morning Session) participated in their respective departmental meetings. These meetings provided opportunities for academic planning, coordination, discussion of departmental priorities and preparation for the new academic year.

The second major session of the day focused on one of the most important dimensions of educational excellence—teacher well-being. Dr. Nazima Bi Shailkh, Vice Principal (GS) conducted an insightful session on “Teachers’ Well-being and Work-Life Balance: The Foundation of Excellence.”

The session emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being. Teachers were encouraged to reflect on their own wellness, manage stress effectively and develop healthy practices that enable them to remain motivated, energetic and emotionally resilient.

The discussion reinforced the understanding that teacher well-being is closely connected with the quality of teaching and learning. A teacher who is physically, mentally and emotionally healthy is better positioned to inspire, support and positively influence learners.

The first day successfully established the spirit and purpose of the refresher course—learning, reflection, collaboration and professional growth. It provided teachers with an opportunity not only to enhance their professional competencies but also to reflect on the importance of their own well-being while nurturing young minds.
