As spring unfolds, our activities have blossomed along with it! 🌸🐣
We’ve been exploring flowers, seeds, and blooming plants, and meeting seasonal animals like chicks, eggs, and bunnies. Each discovery has inspired hands-on play, creativity, and learning about colours, shapes, and textures, helping the children connect with the season in a meaningful way.

Today’s activity is… Shadow Drawing.
A beautiful way for children to slow down, observe carefully, and turn light and shapes into art.
Try asking your child:
“What shapes can you see in the shadow?”
“Is the shadow bigger or smaller than the real object?”
“What happens if we move the light?”
Little play ideas:
- Trace a favourite toy and turn it into a character.
- Use branches or flowers and guess the object before tracing.
- Come back later in the day and see how the shadow has changed.
A calm, creative activity that brings science, art, and imagination together 💚

Today’s activity: Cloud Dough Play
Soft, crumbly, and calming, perfect for little hands to explore. Children can scoop, mould, and imagine all sorts of creations.
Try asking:
“Can you make a mountain or a cupcake?”
“What happens if we press it flat or pile it high?”
“How does it feel compared to sand?”
✨ Little tip: Add a few drops of food colouring if you’d like to give it some colour. Or sprinkle in cinnamon or cocoa powder, it will smell lovely too!
Have a great weekend and stay safe 💚

Today’s activity is one of our Colours of the Earth session favourites: Making our own washable paint!
Try making your own paints at home, it’s such a fun way to explore colour.
Parent tips:
- Set a playful challenge: can they paint something inspired by nature, like a sunset or a forest?
- Encourage them to give their colours creative names.
Don’t forget to share their masterpieces, we can’t wait to see all of them 💚

Today’s activity: Pouring and Scooping
Simple fun that builds focus and coordination while keeping little hands busy.
Parents you can ask questions while they play:
“Which container is bigger?”
“How many scoops do you think will fill this cup?”
“What happens if we pour slowly vs. quickly?”
Little challenges to try:
- Use different sized spoons or cups and compare.
- Time how long it takes to fill a container with scoops.
- Try pouring without spilling, can they keep it steady?
- Switch materials (rice, beans, water) to explore new textures.
Have fun and don’t forget to share your pictures with us 💚
