After finding it difficult to find trust-worthy and appropriate support for her two autistic children, Mariam Al Rashdi founded the Ontario Center for Special Needs (OCSN) in 2015. By then, she had traveled extensively throughout the world and had discovered different therapies and programs that had ignited her passion and desire to open a center in Qatar. The Center offers innovative, customized services to meet the needs of these children aged 3 to 21, in a luxurious and stimulating environment. This is also the first semi-boarding facility in the State of Qatar where students are accommodated from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, making it a comfortable home with a therapeutic program. Because there were few environments with typical facilities for special education, the Founder created a sanctuary that boosted self-esteem and instilled confidence. In addition to being an architectural marvel, OCSN represents a new world for people with special needs. OCSN is incredible in more ways than one, beyond its marvelous design. As the country's most luxurious special education center, this extraordinary facility offers you the highest quality learning, behavior intervention, and therapeutic services with unparalleled hospitality. Qatar's first sensory-friendly VIP cinema is also available at The Ontario Center for Special Needs. It is specifically designed to provide a comfortable viewing environment for individuals with autism and their families. In addition to the cinema, OCSN provides technologically advanced Snoezelen therapy in their multi-sensory environment, facilitated by trained professionals. OCSN's Snoezelen room offers a controlled and multi-sensory therapy environment for those with Autism or developmental disabilities. By providing an environment that adapts to lighting, sounds, and textures, it provides a multi-sensory experience. An internationally renowned organization, OCSN is staffed with highly qualified and licensed professionals who excel in their fields. Passion for serving this special population has brought our multidisciplinary team together from around the world. Using a holistic approach, the team provides individual programs tailored to the needs of each client through extensive assessments and family collaboration. Using this approach, the team develops curriculum related to outcomes valued by individuals with special needs and their families.
