Al Khor International School Al Khor International School - Qatar The school is located in Al Khor Community, approximately 40km north of Doha.

Owned by Qatargas – the largest natural gas producing company in the world, AKIS was established to cater primarily for the children of its employees. A co-educational and non-selective school, AKIS offers the following provision to students from Foundation Stage through to Post 16 (3-18 years of age):

• British Curriculum (BC)
• Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of India
• Ministry of

Education and Higher Education Curriculum, including Arabic Language, Qatar History and Islamic Studies. Over 4,000 students are taught across five buildings, by a dedicated and skilled team of 500 academic staff, that are supported by a team of more than 50 administrative staff. AKIS BC, and CBSE are licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and fully comply with its resolutions and the laws of the State of Qatar.

A gentle reminder for parents of BC Primary Foundation Stage – Year 2. 🚌

As our youngest learners settle into the new academic year, we are introducing adjusted school day timings to help children ease into their new routines.

Foundation Stage
For the first two weeks, children will attend school until 11am. From Sunday 13 September, the school day will extend until 12.50pm, buses will depart at 1pm.

Years 1–2
From the start of the academic year, Years 1–2 will finish school at 12.50pm, buses will depart at 1pm.
