Despite what it may sound like, we're not talking about a piece of paper! 📄😄
When we say that someone tem um papel, we mean that they have a role, a responsibility, or an important function in a situation.
🗣️ Example:
Ela tem um papel importante neste projeto.
(She has an important role in this project.)
This is a very common expression in European Portuguese and one you'll hear often in everyday conversations.

😴 Sono = feeling sleepy
💭 Sonho = a dream (while sleeping) or a dream/goal you'd like to achieve

Do you know what “de pernas para o ar” means in European Portuguese? 🇵🇹
Literally, it means: “with your legs in the air”
But Portuguese people use this expression when something is:
- upside down
- chaotic
- completely out of order
For example:
"Este quadro está de pernas para o ar."
(This picture frame is upside down.)
"A minha vida está de pernas para o ar!"
(My life is a mess / upside down!)
This is a very common expression in Portugal, so save this one. You’ll definitely hear it again!
