Our Grade 4 explorers stepped back in time this week at the Convento dos Capuchos, hidden in the heart of the Sintra hills 🌿

Known as the Convent of Cork, this 16th century friary is famous for its tiny cork lined cells, narrow doorways and mossy stone paths. Students discovered how the Franciscan friars lived in simplicity and harmony with nature, and asked brilliant questions along the way.

Learning comes alive when our classroom is a UNESCO World Heritage landscape right on our doorstep.

Our new gym opened its doors yesterday, and it already feels like home. A great space is just the beginning. It’s our students, coaches and families who make it come alive.

The first month at a new school isn’t just about finding your classroom. It’s about finding your voice, speaking up, trying something new, and sometimes surprising yourself (and your parents 😉).

That’s what we hope the first weeks at TASIS feel like. Supported enough to step outside your comfort zone, and confident enough to grow. 🌱

For the past week, he’s been creating alongside our students, running hands-on workshops, and turning the TASIS Portugal Art Gallery into a living exhibition: Centuries: A Book of Dreams and Ghosts.

Some traditions aren’t explained, they’re felt. Every morning, our Headmaster stands at the door to greet each student with a handshake. It’s our way of saying “welcome,” and a reminder that here, every person matters!

Forest School is built into the school day for our youngest students at TASIS Portugal.🌳

Time outdoors gives them space to test ideas, take small risks, and figure things out on their own. Hands in the soil🌱, vegetables they planted themselves, seasons they can actually see changing.🍂

Some go home to become real salads with their families. Others end up as pretend soups in our mud kitchen.🥗
