Sh*toryu Karatedo, we love it. Sh*tō-ryū (糸東流) is a school of karate that was founded by Kenwa Mabuni in 1931.
In 1939 the style was officially registered in the Butoku Kai headquarters. Kenwa Mabuni (摩文仁 賢和, 1889 - 1952) was one of the first karateka to teach karate on mainland Japan and is creditied as developing the style known as Sh*tō-ryū (糸東流).
