🛶⚓ Heller 1:75 Santa Maria ⚓🛶
Since January, I have been devoted to building the Heller 1:75 scale Santa Maria caravel. Although progress has been slow, I am absolutely passionate about this project. I could have accelerated the process, but I know that speed would compromise the final result.
On my YouTube channel, I could choose to build smaller models and increase productivity. However, it has never been and will never be about money, no matter how useful it may be. A boat, whether made of plastic or wood, deserves time, dedication, and the best craftsmanship you can offer, as long as it is the best you can do and know how to do.
I believe that patience is the key to achieving truly satisfying results. I have rushed through many models and projects in my life to know that there will always be a price to pay later. At each stage of this journey, I immerse myself in this small model, appreciating every detail and valuing the construction process and the knowledge I gain.
I am aware that speed can be tempting in our fast-paced society, and it could even bring profits, but I have chosen a different path. After all, building a boat is not just a hobby, but a way to honor history and naval art, whether it's the Santa Maria or any other ship.
As the saying goes, "Slow and steady wins the race," and I am fully convinced that at the end of this path, I will have a replica of the Santa Maria. And if it happens to have some flaws, it will be mine – made by my own hands, research, and dedication. What better "profit" can one have in this life?
With every small advancement, I feel immense joy because I know that I am building something that will stay with me until my last day (unless it falls off the shelf 😂😂😂). Just remember to be careful with cats...
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has followed along with this construction journey, even though there is still a long way to go, and shared their enthusiasm for it.
To all boat enthusiasts and history buffs, I say that every minute invested in this project is worth it. 🌊⛵
