Porto Academy

Porto Academy www.portoacademy.info 'Porto Academy' it's a Summer school that happens every year at the Faculty of Architecture
of the University of Porto (FAUP).

The academy consists of a weeklong series of lectures and workshops in which students have the chance to work closely with some of the most exciting architects from all over the world. Participants also assist to master classes from other special guest architects.

Barcelona is definitely an important architecture destination. Its historical legacy on the architecture scene is highly relevant due to the presence of iconic buildings and authors in the city.
La Salle and Porto Academy share the common ground of interest and passion for the discipline of architecture. This is reflected by the quality of the different guest tutors who are recognized by their work in the field of education and practice. But also for the students or practitioners who are also coming from a wide range of origins turning this into an international and multicultural experience of learning.

Starting of the second phase of ‘The Street in 10 Years’ competition with and . The proposal is to rethink strategically a central urban environment of the city to be developed within a 10-year time frame.

The five teams selected in the 1st phase from 82 applications from 25 different countries are : and .

In the second phase the selected teams will have to design and plan the actions they would develop to progressively transform the public spaces of Beti Jai street / Duquesa de la Victoria street / La Glorieta park integrating in their methodology the social, physical and aesthetic sphere.
