Special Issue: Augmented reality interfaces for surgical training using computer vision
Augmented Reality technology is virtual pictures that can be superimposed over a view of the surgical field and 3D images can be created from CT and/or MRI data. AR technology has lately been applied to surgical treatments.

Augmented Reality technology is virtual pictures that can be superimposed over a view of the surgical field and 3D images can be created from CT and/or MRI data. AR technology has lately been applied to surgical treatments. In general, it consists of 3D reconstruction, display, registration, and tracking approaches. Rapid processing of visual data through computer vision techniques enables AR systems to react fast to changes in the user's environment. Since virtual reality provides a more affordable and realistic option to textbooks and lectures, it has become a cutting edge teaching tool in surgical education. The potential advantages of virtual reality VR in surgical training include its influence on medical professionals' confidence and skill acquisition. In virtual reality, the user is completely immersed and detached from the outside world, substituting artificial visual, aural, and potentially tactile sensations. AR as a tool on the other hand, necessitates that the user maintain a sense of presence in the actual environment. The integration of digital data with the user's surroundings in real time is known as augmented reality, or AR. Users of augmented reality and AR see the real world with created perceptual information superimposed on top of it, in contrast to virtual reality, which generates an entirely fabricated environment.
The process of obtaining relevant information from medical photographs, frequently with the aid of computational techniques, is known as medical image analysis. Medical image analysis involves a number of tasks, including segmentation, classification, registration, and 3D reconstruction of image data, as well as the viewing and exploration of 2D images and 3D volumes. If surgical processes and human tissue could be perfectly simulated, then learned techniques from a skills laboratory might be applied straight to the operating room.

شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریا کاندھلویؒ عالَم اسلام کی وہ عظیم علمی و روحانی شخصیت ہیں کہ جن کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے لاکھوں لوگوں کی ہدایت کا ذریعہ بنایا عرب و عجم اور یورپ و ایشیاءمیں آپ کو یکساں محبوبیت و مقبولبت عطافرمائی، مختلف علو م و فنون پر دعوتی ، تبلیغی ، اصلاحی علمی و تحقیقی عنوانات پر آپ کی تصنیفات و تالیفات 100 سے زائد ہیں جن کا اردو ، عربی اور فارسی کے علاوہ دیگر زبانوں میں ترجمہ شائع ہو چکا ہے۔

آپ کا نام نامی اسم گرامی کسی تعارف کا محتاج نہیں آپ متبحر عالم دین، وسیع النظر شیخ، بلند پایہ محقق اور علم حدیث میں اعلیٰ اور انفرادی شان رکھتے تھے ۔

آپ کی شہرہ آفاق تصنیف تبلیغی نصاب (فضائل اعمال) کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے پوری دنیا میں مقبولیت عطا فرمائی ہے اور یہ پوری دنیا میں کثرت کے ساتھ پڑھی اور سنی جانے والی کتاب ہے دنیا کے ہر ملک میں مختلف زبانوں میں لاکھوں کی تعداد میں شائع ہونے والی یہ کتاب چوبیس گھنٹوں میں کوئی وقت ایسا نہیں گزرتا جس میں یہ اس کتاب کا مطالعہ اور ہدایت کا سلسلہ جاری نہ ہو ۔

جس طرح حکیم الامت حضرت مولانا محمد اشرف علی تھانویؒ کی سینکڑوں تصنیفات کے باوجود” بہشتی زیور“ ان کی پہچان اور ہر مسلم گھر کی ضرورت بن گئی اسی طرح اللہ تعالیٰ نے شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریا کاندھلوی کو مائیہ ناز تصنیف تبلیغی نصاب (فضائل اعمال) کے ذریعہ جو شہرت و عزت اور مقام اور مقبولیت و محبوبیت عطا فرمائی وہ کسی اور کتاب کو حاصل نہیں ہوسکی۔

شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریاکاندھلوی نے 8 سال کی عمر تک گنگوہ کی خانقاہ میں اپنے والد بزگوار حضرت مولانا محمد یحییٰ کاندھلوی کی زیر تربیت نورانی ماحول میں وقت گذارا، قرآن مجید حفظ کرنے کے بعد ابتدائی دینی کتب اپنے والد محترم حضرت مولانا محمد یحییٰ کاندھلوی سے پڑھیں اور بقیہ علوم وفنون اور حدیث کی کتابوں کی تکمیل مدرسہ مظاہر العلوم سہارنپور میں حضرت مولانا خلیل احمد سہارنپوری سے کیں ،آپ کے دیگر اساتذہ کرام میں آپ کے چچا بانی تبلغی جماعت حضرت مولانا محمدالیاس کاندھلوی، حضرت مولانا ظفر احمد عثمانی اور حضرت مولانا عبدالطیف صاحب خصوصیت سے قابل ذکر ہیں علوم باطنی کی تکمیل حضرت مولانا خلیل احمد سہارنپوری سے حاصل کی یہاں تک کہ آپ اپنے وقت کے ایک بڑے محدث اور علوم باطنی کے بڑے مرشد بن گئے۔

19 سال کی عمر میں شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریاکاندھلوی درس و تدریس میں مصروف ہوئے، 26سال کی عمر میں بخاری شریف اور حدیث کی دیگر کتابوں کو پڑھانے کے ساتھ ساتھ تصنیف و تالیف کا بھی سلسلہ شروع فرما دیا ” شیخ الحدیث“ کا لافانی لقب آپ کو حضرت مولانا خلیل احمد سہارنپوری نے عطا فرمایا تھا جو آپ کے نام کا قائم مقام بلکہ کتاب تبلیغی نصاب (فضائل اعمال) کی طرح آپ کی پہچان و شناخت بن گیا۔آپ نے تقریباً50 سال تک حدیث کی کتب پڑھائی ہیں۔

شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریاکاندھلوی کے سوزو گداز، محبت و خودانکساری اور تواضع کے بارے میں عالم اسلام کی عظیم علمی و ادبی شخصیت مولانا سید ابوالحسن علی ندویؒ تحریر فرماتے ہیں کہ شیخ الحدیث کے علم ، تصنیفی انہماک، وقار و مرتبت اور ضبط وتحمل کے فانوس میں عشق و محبت کا ایک ایسا شعلہ تھا جو جاننے والوں کی نگاہوں سے مستور نہیں۔

ایک اور جگہ مولانا ابوالحسن علی ندوی تحریر فرماتے ہیں کہ اسی محبت و اخلاص نے ان کے درس، ان کی تصنیفات اور ان کے ساتھ بیعت و ارادت کے تعلق میں وہ تاثیر اور کیفیت پیدا کر دی تھی کہ جو اہل ِ عشق کے ساتھ مخصوص ہے۔حدیث اور علم حدیث کا اصل ذوق، موضوع ، محنت اور تحقیق ان کا اصل میدان تھا اور اس کو وہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے تقرب کا سب سے بڑا ذریعہ سمجھتے تھے اور اس کو اپنا شعار بنا لیا۔ یہاں تک کہ شیخ الحدیث کا لقب ان کے نام کا قائم مقام اور اس سے زیادہ مشہور ہوگیا۔ “

شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریا کاندھلوی نے طویل عرصہ کے انہماک و مطالعہ سے جن کتابوں کو تصنیف وتالیف کیا ان میں سے ایک انتہائی اہم کتاب ” اوجز المسالک شرح مو¿طا الامام مالکؒ “ہے یہ کتاب13 جلدوں میں پوری دنیا میں دیگر کتب کی طرح مسلسل شائع ہو رہی ہے ۔کنز المتواری شرح بخاری 24 جلدوں میںعربی زبان میں ہے جس کو مولانا زکریا کاندھلوی کے خلیفہ مجاز پیر طریقت حضرت اقدس فضیلة الشیخ حضرت مولانا عبدالحفیظ مکی مدظلہ¾ نے اپنی نگرانی میں انتہائی خوبصورت انداز میں شائع کروایا ہے اس کتاب کو بھی عرب ممالک سمیت پوری دنیا میں مقبولیتِ عامہ حاصل ہوئی ہے اور اہل علم کے زیر مطالعہ ہے، یہ کتاب بھی ان کے علمی و دینی تصنیفی کارناموں کی دلیل ہے۔آپ کی دیگر تصنیفات و تالیفات میں سے چند ایک یہ ہیں جنہوں نے عالمی و بین الاقوامی شہر ت حاصل کی۔

”حواشی کلام پاک، خصائص نبوی شرح شمائل ترمذی ،لامع الدراری علیٰ جامع البخاری، الکوکب الدری، جز حجة الوداع و العمرات، الابواب و التراجم للبخاری ا، تبلیغی نصاب( فضائل اعمال)،فضائل صدقات، فضائل تجارت، مکتوبات تصوف،تاریخ مشائخ چشت، شریعت و طریقت کا تلازم، اسلامی سیاست، اکابر کا رمضان، سیرت صدیق اکبرؓ، تقریر نسائی شریف، مشائخ تصوف، حواشی اصول الشاشی “ ۔

اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کے علم و قلم میں ایسی برکت اوروسعت و دیعت عطا فرمائی تھی کہ لاکھوں بندگان کی دینی تربیت و ذہن سازی اور ان کے اخلاق و عقائد کی صحت و درستگی آ پ کے علم و قلم کے ذریعہ ہوتی چلی گئی۔

شیخ الحدیث حضرت مولانا محمد زکریا کاندھلو ی کے خلیفہ مجاز فضیلة الشیخ حضرت مولانا عبد الحفیظ مکی مدظلہ‘ تحریر فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت مولانا محمد زکریا کاندھلوی اپنے متعلقین سے ہمیشہ یہ فرماتے رہتے کہ اب ہمتیں کمزور ہوگئی ہیں ہر شعبہ میں کوئی شخص کمال تک نہیں پہنچ سکتا۔ لہذا اپنے لئے طبیعت مزاج اور ضرورت و حالات کے لحاظ سے دین کا ایک شعبہ متعین کر لے اور بقیہ شعبوں کے اکابر اور مخصوصین سے تعلق و محبت رکھے۔ اس سے ان شاءاللہ ”الرجل مع من احب“ کے تحت سب ہی شعبوں کی برکات اور آخرت میں ان کا ساتھ نصیب ہوگا اس کا حضرت کو ہمیشہ اہتمام ہوتا کہ جو جس شعبہ میں ہے وہ اس میں کمال تک پہنچنے کی کوشش کرے۔

وفات سے چند سال قبل ہندوستان سے ہجرت کر کے آپ مدینہ منورہ تشریف لے گئے جہاں شاہ فیصل شہیدؒ نے آپ کو اعزاز و اکرام کے ساتھ ٹھہرایا اور آپ نے مہاجر مدنی بن کر وہیں قیام کیا اور پوری دنیا سے آنے والے مسلمانوں کی رہنمائی فرماتے رہے۔ یہی عشق نبوت کا آفتاب و ماہتاب اپنی جلوہ سامانیاں دکھا کر 1982 ءمیں مدینہ منورہ کی مقدس سرزمین میں ہمیشہ کیلئے لاکھوں مسلمانوں کو جنت کا راستہ دکھانے کے بعد غروب ہوگیا ، مدینہ منورہ کے جنت البقیع میں تدفین عمل میں آئی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ آپ کو جنت الفردوس میں اعلیٰ مقام عطا فرماے

PhD Students - What are the career options after completing PhD?

Many think that academia is the only option for PhDs. However, there are several other paths that PhDs can take.

Here are 10 career pathways you can take.

𝟏. 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐜 - 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚: Perhaps the most common path - take a postdoc position at a university. This position is mostly focused on research.

𝟐. 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚: Get a lecturer/assistant professor position at a university. Here you have to do both research and teaching.

𝟑. 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫/𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 - 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: Join an industry in your specialization area. For example, a PhD in IT/computer science can become a software developer.

𝟒. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫: If you are a risk-taker and passionate about something needed by the public, you can start your own company.

𝟓. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 - 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: Join a research-based position in a company. For example, Tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon hire PhDs for research in areas like software engineering and machine learning.

𝟔. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭: Become a consultant in a consultancy firm. For example, Silverlight Research hires PhDs for data science consultancy. You can become either a full-time or part-time consultant.

𝟕. 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫: You can become an advisor to policymakers in your area of expertise. This would require you to be a good communicator who can present technical content in a non-technical way.

𝟖. 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: You can join the government sector such as defense science & technology, grants assessment, education, higher research sector, etc.

𝟗. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭: Join a research center as a scientist. Several countries have large research centers. For example, Data61 in Australia and Simula in Norway. These centers mostly hire PhDs.

𝟏𝟎. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫: PhD equips you with several capabilities. You learn how to solve difficult problems. So, you can develop the capabilities to become whatever you are passionate about.

Week 5/52: How to Conduct a Literature Review for a Research Paper

Before starting any research area of interest and writing a paper, it is very necessary to search different primary databases, i.e., Scopus, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and Engineering Index. Once you define the search databases, now it's time to explore the research interests as follows:

Step 1: First, you need to define the research scope based on the specific research questions through keywords, which would help you narrow the comparison with the proposed work. This could be possible by following secondary databases like IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, MDPI, and Wiley using specific keywords.

Step 2: Use the citation management toolkit (EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero) to save the papers that might be most interesting to you.

Step 3: You can't finish your literature study until you do a thorough evaluation of the sources you've found on your topic. The analysis of the research presented in the publication will look for connections, important themes, and gaps. Analyze the appropriateness, scope, technique, and connections between works as you read and describe each source. Step 4: Sort the important materials into groups based on how they will help you answer your research question. Narrative, concepts, approaches, and conceptualization are all viable options for organising materials. There should be a lot of talk and explanation about the pros and cons of each category, what it adds to the whole survey, and any comparisons that make sense with other sources.

Week 3/52: How to Write an Attractive Abstract:
Afte title The most effective and readable part of the research paper is the abstract. The majority of the researchers read the abstract as well as the title. Now if the abstract is concise, well designed to reflect the paper, and has flow, most researchers will explore other sections as well. Please follow a very simple design method if you want to write a good abstract. Here are the steps to writing them:
Step 1: Draw a general background within 1-2 lines of the research area, which should not be too narrow.
Step 2: After a general background, now it is time to narrow the background to a specific research area. It is preferable to write one and a half lines.
Step 3: In one line, define the research gap and the problem you want to solve.
Step 4: The proposed work can be 1-2 lines to explain the paper.
Step 5: In 2–3 lines, summarize what you accomplished with the proposed work.
Step 6: Finish the abstract by explaining the significance of the proposed model results and how they can affect change if they are used.
