It is with deep sadness and regret that we bring you this news.

“Ophelia Acton was respected and admired for her enduring commitment and outstanding contributions to FESET.
Her profound enthusiasm and dedication over the recent years merited her with a reputation as the undisputed social education and pedagogy expert.

The FESET Board and Executive would like to take the opportunity to pay tribute publicly to Ophelia Acton who passed away peacefully this year.

It is a great loss but she has left a significant legacy in FESET. Ophelia exuded humility, kindness, gentleness, generosity, respect, humanity, charm, passion and insight. What she did for the social education and pedagogy in Europe was extraordinary; she was both a visionary leader and a catalyst for making big impactful changes occur. She achieved all of this with such incredible modesty and humour.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
