The EU early school leaving rate has fallen to 9.4%, yet this 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟯.𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 who are no longer in education or training without completing upper secondary education.

Teachers are often the first to notice disengagement, loss of motivation, isolation, learning difficulties or emotional distress. Their daily presence, attention and ability to build trust can make a decisive difference in a student’s path.

Preventing early school leaving is not only about policies or statistics. It is about relationships, belonging, inclusion and the human work that happens every day inside classrooms.

Continuous teacher training plays an essential role in this process, giving educators practical strategies to create inclusive classrooms, strengthen student engagement and respond earlier to signs of disengagement.🎒
