A need for teen engagement has become clear, with increased access to technology and less availability of natural spaces, the youths of today are missing a key component to healthy human development. We want to bring them back to nature, in connection with each other, undisturbed by their screens, totally immersed in life experience. This summer camp will focus on collaborative art installations.
OBJECTIVES
Promote interaction between young people from different communities, opening space for new realities, ways of thinking and acting, through the organization and resolution of daily tasks, conflict management and shared responsibility as a group. The focus on art, upcycling and collaborative design aims to put the teens into a project which inspires their creativity, ability to think critically and compromise with their peers.

A necessidade de envolvimento dos adolescentes tornou-se evidente. Com o aumento do acesso à tecnologia e a menor disponibilidade de espaços naturais, os jovens de hoje estão a perder uma componente fundamental para o desenvolvimento humano saudável. Queremos trazê-los de volta à natureza, em conexão uns com os outros, sem a interferência dos ecrãs, totalmente imersos na experiência da vida. Este campo de férias terá como foco instalações de arte colaborativas.

Hello everyone,

I'm very excited about this year's projects that are popping up. The focus will be more on project based learning, community gatherings and supporting the homeschooling network in Portugal and beyond.

The first of many projects to come is a collaboration with an off grid family farm in Southern Portugal, they are running a Teen family Spring camp where families are invited to co-create the days together. With so much space and natural beauty around it is a wonderful space to explore and create with like minded people.

Following on from the Family Teen Camp, I will be facilitating a Cob oven workshop. The oven will be a part of the community kitchen within the family farm and be used to gather people and create beautiful moments in family and community. If your new to cob and want to explore the material, this project is really a great one. With transferable knowledge and skills for any future cob projects.
