The PORTIC’s CybersSeCIP Project took part of the Cyber & Cloud Expo 2022

Cyber&Cloud Expo had its 3rd edition from 15 to the 17 of November. On the 15 of November the expo was organised in Alfândega do Porto and PORTIC’s CybersSeCIP project took part in this day of the expo with a stand, represented by the Researchers Ricardo Severino and Ivone Amorim.

CybersSeCIP is a project led by Portic - Porto Research, Technology & Innovation Center in partnership with ISEP - Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, Instituto Politécnico de Beja, Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e Ave and Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo [IPVC] to further strength the scientific competences and innovation potential of the North region, to tackle the cybersecurity challenge, through investment in a small set of enabling technologies and knowledge, in a coherent program organized in two research lines: one related to the design and protection of secure digital systems, and a second centered on data security and privacy.

CYBER CLOUD EXPO is a hybrid event with key speakers and exhibits with the objective to fills a gap and responds to a market need, establishing itself as a space for knowledge, (in)training, networking, sharing, and business.

Politécnico do Porto

The Lumiplant project represented Politécnico do Porto in the final of the BFK Ideas 2022 contest, which took place in Alfândega do Porto on November 10.

LumiPlant is an idea born on a beach of Maldives where it is possible to contemplate a very interesting natural phenomenon. A fluorescent sea caused by the presence of bioluminescent bacteria that cohabit in these places.
Lumiplant main objective is to produce and market ornamental fluorescent land plants aimed at the luxury market.

LumiPlant started as a research project in Portic - Porto Research, Technology & Innovation Center’s Laboratory of Medical and Industrial Biotechnology and eventually migrated to Startup Porto as an incubated startup.

BfK Ideas, promoted by Agência Nacional de Inovação, is the contest that brings together the best business ideas "born from knowledge" scientific and/or technological.
With an annual edition, this initiative aims to disseminate and distinguish business ideas from Portuguese Higher Education Institutions, encouraging and supporting the work developed by these institutions and their Technology Transfer Offices.
There are 4 different categories: Natural Resources, Environment, Energy and Sustainable Mobility; Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Production Technologies; Health and Wellness and Tourism, Cultural and Creative Industries.

Lumiplant competed in the category "Health Wellness and Tourism."

Street Culture – Bordeaux Transnational Meeting & Training program

Portic - Porto Research, Technology & Innovation Center, as one of the partners involved in the Erasmus+ project “Street Culture for Regions” was part of the Bordeaux Transnational Meeting & Training program, hosted by Le LABA from the 7th to the 9th of November.

During this days partners had the opportunity to discuss the results developed throughout the project. Together with the trainees, partners visited several entities based in Bordeaux related to cultural activities (like music, dance and street art) and attend the Le Laba Multiplier.
The PORTIC and EDRA partners also had the opportunity to promote workshops, regarding the Open Educational Resources developed during the project, for the trainees from the several regions.
Street Culture For Regions project, aims to guide and equip entrepreneurial educators to make the most of street culture opportunities for skills development, as well as social and economic inclusion in our cities and regions across Europe.
