One more impressive order, for 150 aircraft! Towards the growth of air transport industry!

Breaking news: Fly AirAsia just ordered 150 A220s! 🤩

This marks the largest single firm order in the A220’s history. AirAsia becomes not only a new operator, but also the launch customer for the aircraft's new up to 160-passenger cabin configuration.

Combining efficiency and range, the A220 will complement AirAsia’s all fleet and play a key role in the airline's network growth strategy, unlocking new routes across the region.

More orders, meaning air transport Industry continues its path, towards growth! More planes, predicting more aviation profissionals, including airline pilots, will be needed in the future!

LUSOFLY Academy took part in an event organized in Tomar town, by local city ​​council, dedicated to promote near students, new job opportunities.
Our participation was done in close cooperation with local association dedicated to promotion of air & space knowledge, aero modeling club: Aerocalminhss. From this club, several young ones made a discover for their future role as pilots, engineers, aircraft mechanics, cabin crew members, among others with huge responsabilities in several areas of aviation and space. The organization of the evdnt, invited both Aerocalminhas and LUSOFLY Academy, to take organize 2 moments of interaction with students and educational teachers. During those, an interesting interaction was done between professionals connected with the club, as well as with the academy.
Congratulations to Tomar city council, for this event, in which we were proud to make part of.

Another class has officially begun their flight training!
Seeing the joy and determination of these future pilots is proof that the passion for aviation is what drives us.

A aviação comercial global atravessa um momento estrutural de transformação, marcado por uma crescente escassez de pilotos e pela necessidade de adaptação dos modelos de formação. De acordo com a Boeing, serão necessários mais de 600 mil novos pilotos até 2044, enquanto a Airbus aponta para uma procura semelhante, estimando cerca de 585 mil profissionais nas próximas duas décadas.

Este cenário é reforçado por dados da International Air Transport Association (IATA), que indicam uma recuperação acelerada do tráfego aéreo, particularmente na Europa e na Ásia, intensificando a pressão sobre os centros de formação. Em paralelo, a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) sublinha a evolução dos padrões de treino, com maior foco em competências cognitivas, tomada de decisão e consciência situacional.

Neste contexto, a International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) alerta que a sustentabilidade do crescimento da aviação dependerá diretamente da capacidade de formar, qualificar e reter novos pilotos. Mais do que uma questão operacional, trata-se de um desafio estratégico que definirá o futuro do sector nas próximas décadas.
