With the work closing, the International Heritage Summer School 2022 comes to its end credits..which cannot lack our ! 🙏

Yesterday has been a day of 🧳 and return 🛤️ that we hope were enjoyable and not too tough.

As organising committee, we want to thank again all the 👥 of the Summer School, students, intervenors and professors, for their positive energy ⚡ and interesting contributions 📝. Without you, the IHSS '22 wouldn't have been possible.

We also want to thank all the people that have supported us with , such as the High Performance Rowing and Canoeing Center 🏡 personnel, the municipalities and all the local (public and private) that have believed in the IHSS, our bus drivers 🚌 and all the cooks 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 who prepared delicious 🍛 for us during this week.

Our biggest wish is that this has been able to open new doors 🚪 and points of view, bringing us closer to the 🌊 we want to achieve. 🗺

Com o fechamento dos trabalhos, a International Heritage Summer School 2022 chega aos créditos finais..que não podem faltar os nossos agradecimentos! 🙏

Ontem foi um dia de despedidas 🧳 e viagens de retorno 🛤️ que esperamos que tenham sido agradáveis ​​e não muito difíceis.

Como comissão organizadora, queremos agradecer novamente a tod@s participantes 👥 da Escola de Verão, alun@s, intervenientes e professor@s, pela energia positiva ⚡ e contribuições interessantes 📝. Sem vocês, a IHSS '22 não teria sido possível.

Queremos também agradecer a todas as pessoas que nos têm apoiado com carinho, como o pessoal do Centro de Alto Rendimento de Remo e Canoagem 🏡, as autarquias e os atores locais (públicos e privados) que acreditaram no IHSS, os nossos motoristas de autocarro 🚌 e tod@s cozinheir@s 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 que prepararam deliciosas refeições 🍛 para nós durante esta semana.

O nosso maior desejo é que essa experiência tenha aberto novas portas 🚪 e pontos de vista, aproximando-nos da MUDANÇA 🌊 que queremos alcançar. 🗺

The International Heritage Summer School 2022 is getting closer to its ! 😭
The 6th day has introduced us to several , opening windows for new ! 🪟

In the morning, our works came back to the CAR of Pocinho 🏡 🛶 where we had a full in Italy 🇮🇹 focusing our session on the striking of the Sassi of "the neighborhood of the world" 🫂 where public, semi-public and private interacted through as a continuous interplay between ⛏️ and open space 🌌. We have also had time for a presentation from our Italian students!

Before and after lunch 🍛 we carried out our daily by asking to the participants to draw and ✏️ the , and surrounding us, by acts of looking, writing, interacting and debating it and with it 🎞️.

At the end of the afternoon, following the secretariat closing, we concluded our day with a beautiful trip ⛵️ in the Douro river, to and the landscape 🔭 of the Alto Douro Wine Region and understand how a dam crossing works! 👀

Now it is time for a final moment of and among us and for enjoying a good Portuguese dinner 🇵🇹, with all the inputs received in these days, this last night 🌃 promises to be plenty of ! 💭

A International Heritage Summer School 2022 está a chegar ao seu fim! 😭
O 6º dia apresentou-nos várias descobertas, abrindo janelas para novas perspectivas! 🪟

Pela manhã, os nossos trabalhos regressaram ao CAR do Pocinho 🏡 🛶 onde tivemos uma imersão em Itália 🇮🇹 focando a nossa sessão na marcante história dos Sassi de Matera "o bairro do mundo" 🫂 aonde espaços públicos, semipúblicos e privados comunicaram ao longo do tempo através duma interação contínua entre escavação ⛏️ e espaço aberto 🌌. Também tivemos tempo para uma apresentação das nossas alunas italianas!

Antes e depois do almoço 🍛 realizámos o nosso workshop diário pedindo aos participantes que desenhassem e imaginassem ✏️ a paisagem, formas e linhas que nos rodeiam, por atos de olhar, escrever, interagir e debater e com ela 🎞️ .

Ao final da tarde, após o encerramento do secretariado, concluímos o nosso dia com um magnífico passeio de barco ⛵️ no rio Douro, para analisar e interpretar a paisagem 🔭 do Alto Douro Vinhateiro e perceber como funciona uma travessia de barragens! 👀

Agora é hora de um momento final de relax e conexão entre tod@s nós e dum bom jantar português 🇵🇹. Com todas as entradas recebidas nestes dias, esta última noite 🌃 promete ser cheia de sonhos! 💭

For the 5th day of the International Heritage Summer School 2022 we moved our to Meda! 🚌

In the morning, we visited Longroiva and Marialva 🏰 for our 🔎, were we get to know their religious and defensive before going to Meda to enjoy a typical Portuguese lunch 😋.

In the afternoon, we opened our sessions in the cozy auditorium of the Meda Municipal Museum, asking ourselves how 🗽 emerges from history ⏳, and how cultural heritage is expressed in , with a focus on topographic architecture in Galicia 🇪🇸 and the Portuguese 🇵🇹 wall paintings 🎨.

Now, it is almost time to return to our temporary in Pocinho 🏡, but before going to recharge our batteries🔋, one more typical Portuguese dinner is waiting for us! 🍲

Para o 5º dia da International Heritage Summer School 2022 transferimos as nossas sessões para Meda! 🚌

De manhã, visitámos Longroiva e Marialva 🏰 para o nosso trabalho de campo 🔎, onde ficámos a conhecer o seu património religioso e defensivo antes de seguirmos para Meda para desfrutar de um almoço tipicamente português 😋.

Na tarde, abrimos as nossas sessões no acolhedor auditório do Museu Municipal de Meda, perguntando-nos como o património 🗽 emerge da história ⏳, e como o património cultural se expressa na história, com foco na arquitetura topográfica na Galiza 🇪🇸 e na pintura mural a fresco 🎨 portuguesa 🇵🇹.

Agora, está quase na hora de regressarmos à nossa casa temporária no Pocinho 🏡, mas antes de irmos recarregar as baterias 🔋, espera-nos mais um jantar típico português! 🍲

The 4th day of the International Heritage Summer School 2022 is going to end and it has already been rich in ! 🌬️

In the morning our works came back to the unique venue of the High Performance Rowing and Canoeing Center 🏡 🛶 where we debated 🏛️ contemporary roles and goals, new forms of , conservation and restoration principles and how to ensure overall and , with case studies from Northern Portugal 🇵🇹.
At the end of the morning the Museu do Douro Educational Department advised us to take some time for ourselves, walk around, pick a small sign from nature 🌿, while trying to answer the question "what's in this ?" 🌍

In the afternoon we went for our 🔎 to the Museu do Côa to investigate the outstanding rock art sites in the Douro Valley before visiting the Quinta da Ervamoira Farm Site Museum to continue our critical discussion about while visiting its collection and discover more about vineyards 🍇 and Porto wine making 🍷.

Now we are going back to our hub in Pocinho, to enjoy the dinner 🍲 and reflect on the many received today!

O 4º dia da International Heritage Summer School 2022 está a acabar e já foi rico em estímulos! 🌬️

De manhã, as nossas sessões voltaram ao local único que é o Centro de Alto Rendimento do Pocinho 🏡 onde debatemos objetivos e papéis contemporâneos dos museus 🏛️, novas formas de museologia, princípios de conservação e restauro e como garantir inclusividade e acessibilidade, com estudos de caso do norte de Portugal 🇵🇹.

No final da manhã, o Serviço Educativo do Museu Douro aconselhou-nos a passar algum tempo connoscos mesm@s, dar um passeio, escolher um pequeno sinal da natureza 🌿, enquanto tentando responder à pergunta "O que há neste lugar?" 🌍

À tarde, fomos para o nosso trabalho de campo 🔎 para o Museu do Côa e as magníficas gravuras rupestres da Vale do Douro, antes de visitar o Museu do Sitio de Ervamoira continuando a discussão crítica sobre o património e visitar a coleção do Museu, sempre a descubrir mais sobre as vinhas 🍇 e o vinho do porto 🍷.

Agora estamos de volta para o Pocinho, para desfrutar de um bom jantar 🍲 e refletir sobre as muitas inspirações de hoje!

For the 3rd day of the International Heritage Summer School 2022 we moved our to Freixo de Numão! 🚌

In the morning we had an open discussion on how to promote different paradigms 🚇🚲♻️ recalling the challenges it poses worldwide and in Portugal 🇵🇹.
We've also had an immersion in the European and analysing groups, movements and materials that have defined our continent through time, with a focus on the Iberian peninsula and the Douro Valley with a delicious break for a olive oil 🫒 and sweet wine tasting🍷.

The afternoon was dedicated to an exciting in the Museu CasaGrande 🏛️, the Prazo archeological site ⚱️and the Castelo Velho village 🏰, always surrounded by the unique Douro Valley 🖼️

Now it is time for a recharging 🍲 before taking our way back to Pocinho and prepare for new to come tomorrow! 🌞

Para o 3º dia da International Heritage Summer School 2022 transferimos as nossas sessões para Freixo de Numão! 🚌

De manhã tivemos uma discussão aberta sobre como promover diferentes paradigmas do turismo 🚇🚲♻️ relembrando os desafios que este coloca globalmente e em Portugal 🇵🇹.
Também tivemos uma imersão na história e arqueologia europeia: grupos, movimentos e materiais que definiram o nosso continente ao longo do tempo, com foco na Península Ibérica e na Vale do Douro, com uma deliciosa pausa para uma prova de azeite 🫒 e degustação de vinhos doces🍷.

A tarde foi dedicada a um emocionante trabalho de campo no Museu da Casa Grande 🏛️, no sítio arqueológico do Prazo ⚱️e na vila de Castelo Velho 🏰, sempre rodead@s pela paisagem única do Vale do Douro 🖼️

Agora é hora de um jantar para recarregar 🍲 antes de regressar ao Pocinho e preparar-se para as novas experiências que virão amanhã! 🌞

The 2nd day of the International Heritage Summer School 2022 was rich of food for ! 🤯

Today we started our sessions investigating the relationship between and considering transformative power, with case studies from Portugal 🇵🇹, France 🇫🇷 and Iceland 🇮🇸.
This encompassed a discussion about the origins of the contemporary awareness 🌳 noticing how it has evolved from the 70s onwards.
We've also seen how 📸 is part of the production of fluid thresholds both imaginative and real, with a focus on photography with Duarte Belo.

Finally, we went for a visit to the Quinta do Vale Meão (Vale Meão Farm) for our and to discover their cellars and wineyards! 🍷

Now it is time to and 🌝 the Douro Valley landscape, waiting for a new exciting day to come!

O 2º dia da International Heritage Summer School 2022 foi rico em reflexões! 🤯

Hoje começamos as sessões investigando a relação entre patrimônio e paisagem considerando a mudança transformadora do turismo, com estudos de caso de Portugal 🇵🇹, França 🇫🇷 e Islândia 🇮🇸.
Estas sessões incluíram uma discussão sobre as origens da consciência ecológica 🌳 contemporânea, e como evoluiu a partir dos anos 70.
Vimos também como a fotografia 📸 é parte duma produção de limiares fluídos tanto imaginários quanto reais, com um fogo na fotografia portuguesa com Duarte Belo.

Por fim, fomos fazer uma visita na Quinta do Vale Meão para o nosso trabalho de campo e para conhecer as suas caves e vinhas!🍷

Agora é tempo de descansar e aproveitar 🌝 a paisagem do Vale do Douro para participantes, à espera de um novo dia emocionante a chegar!
