MScCCSE - Open Days 09/06/2021

Embedded and critical computational systems have an increasingly important role and are present in the technological and intelligent world that surrounds us. Both academia and industry are working continuously to take down barriers and limits imposed by current technologies. These systems have been integrated in the most varied environments, examples being the incorporation of mixed sensors connected in a network to environmental monitoring in real-time; the data fusion required by autonomous vehicles, either by land or by air (for example when using drones for the most varied purposes); and the transparent integration into the healthcare and manufacturing industries.

The Master's Degree in Critical Computational Systems Engineering (MScCCSE) was created to prepare new engineers specialized in critical computational systems. This graduation focuses on the challenges and problems of this class of computational systems that are increasingly relevant to society, in addition to conveying to its students the knowledge and tools necessary to enable them to have a successful career both in industry and academia.

Potential students interested in this Masters have now an opportunity to find out more about this new educational tool, in several online sessions where the objectives, contents and organization of the MScCCSE will be presented and also provide a channel where participants can ask their questions and interact with the graduation promoters. Each session will feature the presence of elements from key companies in the area of critical systems.

MScCCSE - Open Days MScCCE - Open DaysMaster Computing Critical Systems Engineering

MScCCSE - Welcome 08/06/2021

Critical Computing Systems Engineering at ISEP

The Need for a New Generation of Engineers

Although current and future industry main technological trends are increasingly falling into one or several of the categories of Critical Systems, the necessary kind of expertise for their design and implementation is not commonly found in the curricula of traditional Software Engineering and Computer Science degrees. It is therefore pivotal that this gap is filled with an adequate focus in such areas of knowledge to spring bright, young engineering professionals able to address these challenges both within industrial environments as well as academic or governmental.

The goal of this MSc is to contribute to overcome this shortage in the short/mid-term by providing future students with the necessary knowledge and tools so that they become part on a new generation of Engineers which excel at addressing the challenges of designing and developing Critical Computing Systems, thus contributing at the long run to enable a competitive and sustainable growth of the economical ecosystem focused on this class of systems.
