🇵🇹🌍 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 🌶️
Did you know that Portugal’s global voyages didn’t just change maps… they changed taste buds too? 😋✨

From the 15th century onward, Portuguese explorers carried spices, flavors, and cooking techniques across continents. Their influence quietly shaped iconic dishes we enjoy today — even in countries you wouldn’t expect!

🇮🇳 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐨 (India)
Derived from the Portuguese vinha d’alhos — a garlic-wine marinade. Today it’s a spicy Goan classic!

🇯🇵 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐚 (Japan)
Introduced by Portuguese missionaries in the 1500s who made peixinhos da horta (little garden fish). Japan loved it — and the rest is culinary history.

🇧🇷 𝐅𝐞𝐢𝐣𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐚 (Brazil)
While its roots are debated, Portuguese bean stews heavily influenced Brazil’s national dish.

🇨🇳/🇲🇴 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞
A fusion of Chinese and Portuguese flavors—think African Chicken, Portuguese Egg Tarts, and pork chop buns.

🇨🇻 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐩𝐚 (Cape Verde)
A slow-simmered stew with clear Portuguese roots, transformed into a beloved island comfort food.

🌶️ From piri-piri to cinnamon, cloves to saffron… the Portuguese helped spread spices across the globe, leaving behind a culinary footprint that still flavors the world today. 🇵🇹✨

Who AM I? What do I do?
I teach Portuguese to foreigners live through TEAMS, now. Read on...
Boa noite.

What did I study? Where? When? Why? I took a degree in English Language and Literature, at the University of Minho, in Braga, from 2008 until 2011, and I was an Erasmus student at PUC, Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro. My general final mark was 16 (out of 20) for the whole course and all subjects. I love teaching, even before beeing graduated at UMinho, I taught English and Commercial Skills (secretary) for more than 10 years in Brazil.
Why Portuguese? Because I studied the modern methods of teaching Portuguese as a foreign language.... This is part of my Graduate Diploma:
