Meet Our Special Speaker: María Pérez Rey, Spain

María is an R&D Project Manager at CTAEX – National Agri-Food Technological Centre of Extremadura (Spain), where she leads and coordinates innovative industrial h**p research projects. Her work focuses on sustainable cultivation, agrifood innovation, biomaterials and the circular bioeconomy. She is currently involved in major European initiatives including H**PVALUE, Cannamatter, H**PNOVA, BGREENER and WeCann, contributing to the development of industrial h**p as a strategic crop for the future.

Encontra-se em Ponta Delgada o navio Sagres vindo dos EUA onde participou nas celebrações dos 250 anos. Na viagem trouxe a medalha do Nobel da Medicina, Craig Mello, com origens na Freguesia da Maia, S Miguel, num regresso simbólico dos seus antepassados que, no início do século XX, rumaram em direção aos EUA. A convite da Sagres e do Craig Mello, amanhã as instituições da freguesia da Maia, familiares, amigos, Universidade dos Açores, entre outros irão visitar o barco e a medalha do nosso orgulho nacional e internacional.
