Today marks the start of the General Assembly, taking place on 16 and 17 June at SINTEF, in Trondheim.

During these two days, project partners are gathering to review the progress achieved over the last six months, assess the current status of ongoing activities, and define the next steps for the project.

✅A key focus of this General Assembly is the discussion of exploitation activities, ensuring that AIRISE outcomes continue to generate impact and create value for European industry through the adoption of Artificial Intelligence solutions.

The meeting provides an important opportunity for , knowledge sharing, and alignment on future priorities as the project moves forward.

Artificial Intelligence is already creating a measurable impact for European manufacturing SMEs.

Through AIRISE, companies are testing AI solutions in real industrial environments — from robotic design and textile quality control to CNC machining, eco-friendly product design, traditional cheese production and natural ingredient optimisation.

Each Airise application case starts with a concrete SME challenge and follows a practical path: defining the problem, implementing an AI-based solution, measuring the results and identifying future opportunities for scale-up.

One example is robnAI, where AI-driven optimisation supported the redesign of robotic components, leading to:
✅ 50% mass reduction
✅ up to 65% production cost reduction
✅ faster design cycles
✅ simplified manufacturing processes

Other experiments have shown how AI can help SMEs reduce waste, save energy and water, improve product quality, support operators and strengthen competitiveness.

The message is clear: AI adoption does not need to start with a large transformation programme. It can begin with one specific challenge — and grow from there.
