**A King's Tenderness**
Ever seen a pharaoh shown not in power, but in love? 💛
This is the Golden Throne of Tutankhamun, one of the most intimate pieces of art to survive from ancient Egypt. Carved from wood, covered entirely in gold and silver sheeting, and inlaid with lapis lazuli, carnelian, turquoise, and colored glass, the armchair's arms take the shape of winged cobras wearing Egypt's double crown, guarding the king's name on either side. But it's the backrest that makes this piece unforgettable. It shows Tutankhamun seated, while his young wife Ankhesenamun stands gently in front of him, holding a small cup of scented oil and anointing his collar, all beneath the rays of the sun disc Aten, in the artistic style inherited from the Amarna period of his father Akhenaten. It's one of the rare moments in Egyptian royal art where a king isn't shown smiting enemies or receiving tribute, but simply being cared for by someone who loved him. The throne likely dates to the very start of his reign, since it still carries his birth name, Tutankhaten, before he restored the old gods and changed it to Tutankhamun.
Discovered wrapped in linen inside the antechamber of his tomb in 1922, this throne now sits among the treasures of the Grand Egyptian Museum, its colors still vivid after more than 3,300 years.

ده عرش توت عنخ آمون الذهبي، واحدة من أكتر القطع الفنية حميمية اللي نجت من مصر القديمة. الكرسي منحوت من الخشب، ومغطى بالكامل بالذهب والفضة، ومطعم بالأزورد والعقيق والفيروز والزجاج الملون، وأدراعه على شكل كوبرا مجنحة لابسة التاج المزدوج بتاع مصر، وحامية اسم الملك من الجانبين. بس اللي بيخلي القطعة دي لا تُنسى هو مسند الظهر. بيوضح توت عنخ آمون قاعد، وزوجته الصغيرة عنخس آمون واقفة قدامه بلطف، ماسكة كوب صغير من الزيت المعطر وبتدهن طوق رقبته، وكل ده تحت أشعة قرص الشمس آتون، بالأسلوب الفني الموروث من عصر العمارنة في زمن والده أخناتون. دي واحدة من اللحظات النادرة في الفن الملكي المصري اللي فيها الملك مش متصور بيهزم أعداء أو بياخد جزية، لكن ببساطة حد بيهتم بيه وبيحبه. العرش على الأرجح يرجع لبداية عصره، لأنه لسه شايل اسم ميلاده توت عنخ آتون، قبل ما يرجع للآلهة القديمة ويغير اسمه لتوت عنخ آمون.
