Good morning 2025, I’ve made this to start the new year. The left path represents one minute before midnight last night, and the right side the first moment of the new year. Which path did you take reading it?

“As we cross the threshold of 2025, we vow to mend old wounds in the hush if midnight, we focus on meaningful goals as we plan ahead and strengthen our resolve, finding purpose through each day. As we greet the promise of this new year, we yearn to create new wonders in the rush of dawn, we pursue shared dreams as we step forward, and refine our perspective, gaining courage in every moment. “

Lovely analogy to think about during the holidays:

Imagine you’re holding a cup of coffee, and someone bumps into you or shakes your arm, causing you to spill the coffee everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee?
“Because someone bumped into me!” you might say.

Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.
If there had been tea in your cup, you would have spilled tea instead.

The point is: whatever is inside the cup is what will come out.

Similarly, when life shakes you (and it will), whatever is inside you is what spills out. It’s easy to maintain a façade when things are going well, but when you’re rattled, the truth of what’s inside you is revealed.

So, we must ask ourselves: What’s in my cup?
When life gets tough, what spills over?

Is it joy, gratitude, peace, and humility?
Or is it anger, bitterness, a victim mentality, or a tendency to give up?

Life provides the cup, but you choose how to fill it.

Take a look at the Time 2 Take the Jump page, Anjo is gathering lots of interesting quotes and bits of inspiration there. The one below is from an excellent documentary I highly recommend: Stutz on Netflix—definitely a five-star watch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I got this great tip from Theo from Theo Hordijk Coaching to watch the Netflix documentary, “Stutz,” featuring actor Jonah Hill and his psychiatrist, Dr. Phil Stutz. It is a must-watch for anyone interested in personal development and mental health.
One of the key takeaways from the documentary was Dr. Stutz’s idea of the “life force pyramid.” According to Dr. Stutz, the life force pyramid consists of three levels - the body, people (relationships), and yourself (relationship with self and aspirations). He suggested that if we work on these three levels, everything else in life will fall into place.

1. The Body
The body is the foundation of the life force pyramid, and it represents our physical health. Taking care of our bodies is essential for building a strong foundation for a happy and fulfilling life. This includes eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and engaging in regular exercise.

2. Relationships
The second level of the life force pyramid is relationships. As human beings, we are social creatures, and we need positive, meaningful relationships in our lives. Our relationships can either lift us up or bring us down, so it’s important to invest in positive relationships and cut out toxic ones.

3. Yourself
The third and final level of the life force pyramid is yourself, which includes your relationship with yourself and your aspirations. This level is all about personal growth and self-awareness. By setting goals, developing new skills, and understanding our values and beliefs, we can cultivate a sense of purpose and fulfillment in life.

In summary, Dr. Stutz’s life force pyramid offers a simple and practical approach to improving our overall well-being. By focusing on our physical health, relationships, and personal growth, we can build a strong foundation for a happy and fulfilling life.

Let’s WALK & TALK

Today wrote these lovely words in Dutch about our walk. Here is the English translation for you:

Sometimes the best insights and brightest ideas come while walking. That’s why I love taking my coaching clients into nature whenever possible. 🌿

This morning, I went on a brainstorming hike with my friend and coaching colleague . It was a coaching exchange that gave both of us space to grow.

We brought hidden blind spots to light, listened to our own thoughts in the silence, expressed them, and reflected with an open mind on what we really need right now to move forward. 🧠✨

I believe we all can benefit from a coach sometimes – someone who listens with the right questions and a neutral perspective, without emotional involvement, and can provide insights to help you achieve your goals.

Theo, like me, now has space for clients again. Highly recommend 🙏

This instagram used to be our account for our Bed & Breakfast in the past, and for our creative space in more recent times. It’s time to change it up and start using it as myself and with that it was time for a new name. So on from ‘otartufo’ to ‘Theo in the Algarve’ we go!
