Summer has a way of slowing us down, so curiosity can speed up.
At the LIS Summer Camp, learning doesn't stop when school ends. It simply changes shape. It becomes salty hair after a surf lesson, sandy hands building castles by the sea, laughter echoing through water parks, courage growing high in adventure courses, and wonder sparked by every new place explored.

It's about feeling the sun, listening to the waves, climbing, running, creating, discovering, and making friends along the way. Through sensory experiences, outdoor adventures and hands-on challenges, every day invites children to be present, embrace nature and build confidence in themselves. From the beach to themed visits, from sports to adventure, every moment is designed to awaken the senses, inspire curiosity and create memories that last far beyond summer.

And the best "souvenirs" are the stories we'll carry for life!

Sports Days: what a wonderful way to celebrate the end of another incredible school year!

After a year of learning, growing, and achieving, there is so much energy built up in our students, what better way to channel it than through days dedicated to movement, sports, and wellbeing?

From our youngest learners running, jumping, balancing, and playing, to our Secondary students challenging themselves through teamwork, competition, and perseverance, every moment reflected the power of sport in education.

These days celebrated much more than physical activity. They highlighted resilience, collaboration, determination, confidence, and sportsmanship!

🏐 What a fantastic day of volleyball at the LASA Tournament hosted by Aprendizes School in Cascais!

Last week, our learners competed with determination, resilience, and outstanding team spirit throughout the day, achieving some excellent results, including semi-final and quarter-final appearances. Beyond the matches and the scores, this tournament was about something even more important.

We are incredibly proud of the way our learners represented Leiria International School: with enthusiasm, respect, and a positive attitude from start to finish.

Once upon a time, they were little people with big dreams.

Last Friday, we celebrated 15 incredible graduates who are ready to take their next steps with courage, confidence, and determination.

Heartfelt and inspiring words were shared by and for our graduates, making this milestone even more meaningful. We were also honoured to welcome the remarkable entrepreneur Alexandra Almeida, who delivered a special message encouraging our graduates to embrace their achievements, celebrate their journey, and look to the future with confidence.

At LIS, we believe the future of engineering is built through collaboration, curiosity, and the courage to push boundaries. That is why we are proud to support LART – Leiria Academic Racing Team and contribute to a journey that empowers the next generation of engineers to transform ideas into reality.

The unveiling of the TEK-26e, LART’s first dual-motor electric and autonomous vehicle, is not only a remarkable technological achievement but also a reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and determination behind every breakthrough.

Learning comes alive when learners can see, question, and experience concepts in real-world contexts.

As part of their Sharing the Planet Unit, our primary learners visited Festival A Porta to explore the concept of home through art, culture, and community.
This authentic learning experience invited learners to look beyond the physical meaning of home and reflect on questions of identity, belonging, and connection.

Through encounters with different artistic expressions and perspectives, they deepened their understanding of how people experience and define home in diverse ways.

By engaging with the wider community, learners made meaningful connections between their classroom inquiry and the world around them, developing empathy, curiosity, and a greater appreciation for the richness of human experiences.

What does it mean to celebrate Portugal?
It is more than remembering history, displaying a flag, or honouring traditions.

During Portuguese Week, our learners explored the country's rich cultural heritage through traditional dress, food, and activities that celebrated its culture, symbols, and history. By engaging with art, music, storytelling, and hands-on experiences, they discovered that culture lives in people, experiences, and shared memories.

A special highlight was História(s) de Portugal, performed by our Form 7 Foundational Portuguese learners, who brought key moments of the nation's history to life.
