🌼Dearest Friends and community 🌼
How is the beginning of Fall unfolding for you? Do you feel the need to slow down, to take time to reflect on the past months?
I was sharing with a friend recently that since my Summer was dedicated to giving birth and welcoming the boys into this world, I didn’t connect to that outward energy of Summer this year...and I am rather experiencing this energy of expansiveness and connection now that more than 3 months have passed and that our lives are taking a new rhythm.
Which made me realise that sometimes life events and our own personal cycles bring us slightly out of the natural shifts of energy related to each seasons - and being in that backward flow for a while is a great opportunity to look deeper into the core of who we are and what we want independently from external influences. I am looking forward to being back to teaching in January and to be bringing new offerings at Agora.
*An important one I want to share with you today is that I will be holding a monthly study group online starting on January 23rd* These meetings are made for Yoga Regular practitioners and Agora teacher training past or future students who wish to deepen their connection to yoga philosophy & way of life. Together we will explore bits of Yoga philosophy, ethics of Yoga , topics related to teaching Yoga. The intention is for us to cultivate being part of a community of practitioners (even in the distance) and to maintain our connection to the depths of the practice.
More info on this flyer - reach out to me at [email protected] if you want to join the group (3-month commitment is required) and let me know about your experience with the practice if you are not already a student at Agora.
Also happy to announce that the next Teacher training course will take place from end of August to December 2026, with the possibility of starting to add some hours starting in March ! And..we are working on Agora’s 300h training program for 2027!
Sending my love and sincere wishes of happiness to us all for the end of the year 🧡

🦚 The word leela is Sanskrit for ‘the divine play of God’.
« The basic recurring theme in Hindu mythology is the creation of the world by the self-sacrifice of God—‘sacrifice’ in the original sense of “making sacred”—whereby God becomes the world which, in the end, becomes again God.
This creative activity of the Divine is called lila, the play of God, and the world is seen as the stage of the divine play. »
(Fritjof Capra, The Tao of Physics)
Shakespeare seems to be talking about the same idea when he says “all the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” God, which is understood as the Original Consciousness in Hindu traditions, continually transforms itself into the diversity of creation in order to understand itself from infinite angles.
It is an important part of my daily practices to remind myself that I am both an observer and a actor of that cosmic dance, so that I practice enjoying my own ‘performance’ and that of the others around me, while aiming to detach from the ups and downs of my own life. The same way an actor would be detached from the ups and downs of his character.
When my mind gets a glimpse of that realisation, there is a deep sense of peace, of faith (shraddha), and nothing truly matters except what I am learning in the present moment. Although it is a state and a feeling that comes and goes , it is relieving to experience that both joy and pain can become equally valued teachers. Each person’s body, mind and experience then appears as unique vehicles through which they manifest new perspectives on existence to share with all other beings.
🌌 Can we engage in everyday life as a cosmic dancer , with the playfulness and the grace of the dancer ?

🌞Back from my last retreat in South of France , co-teaching with my friend , I share with you the few lines I had written as an invitation for this week of practice.
I would like to continue exploring the Imaginative dimension of the practice, which will be the theme for my next retreat in Portugal in April (the flyer will soon be published and the final dates confirmed, /hopefully April 11-15). I hope some of you can join me for it 🤞
Lightness is cultivated by taking roots. This is where the practice must begin, again and again. There are a multitude of opportunities to establish roots in practice. When we learn to anchor ourselves, we move energy downwards, towards the earth. The energy, or prana, bounces back, and in its upward movement allows the subtle channels of the body to wake up and open, allowing body awareness and freeing our movement from a place of stability.
🌳Observing nature teaches us a great deal about the circulation of this vital energy. The tallest trees in the world, sequoias, have a vast, complex network of roots that support their momentum towards the sky.
In our practice, this return and conscious anchoring to the earth happens every time our hands or feet touch the ground. It is then possible to draw from this offering an inexhaustible strength, a source of infinite renewal.
⚓️ Anchoring ourselves in the practice is not always linked to working on the body’s downward flow, even though this is an important stage in learning to practise asana. It’s also about fully inhabiting the body, from the roots to the extremities. Every centimetre, every layer is alive. Every part of our body is integrated into the whole. Rather than clinging on and tensing up, yoga invites us to awaken every cell in the body through breathing. A conscious and full relationship with the body can only be built if we learn to feel it.

“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.”
~ Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants
I finished 2023 (almost) in the jungle of Colombia on the land of the Kogis tribe. I immersed myself into nature and beauty , connecting to the invisible realm of life and being reminded of the urgency to celebrate the extraordinary power of life unfolding constantly under our eyes.
Celebrating , loving , and healing the world we live in and the world within is essentially the same thing , and these aspirations cannot be dissociated , whether we take a long time to realize it , to face it, or whether it strikes us suddenly.
I wish us all to live 2024 with open hearts and open eyes to see the beauty of our world and of humanity , beyond hopelessness and despair. So we can take action again and again with every breath.
