Healing Nature brings murals to life through art 🎨 and augmented reality 📲
On 5 June, the Living Murals Workshop took place at Dona Estefânia Children’s Hospital as part of the European project Healing Nature.
Led by CICANT researcher Natalie Woolf and colleagues from Lusófona University, Hugo Barata and João Cabral, the workshop introduced healthcare professionals, children, and families to the interactive mural installations created within the project.
Using augmented reality technology through Artivive, participants explored animations embedded in the murals, transforming hospital spaces into engaging and creative environments.

📢 Join us at the Online Transnational Launching Event of the Creative Europe project EUthentic Detectives: Detecting Truth, Building Communities!
The project aims to strengthen media literacy skills of people facing cognitive challenges, including people with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, or dementia, as well as caregivers and young volunteers across Europe and beyond.
Together, we will explore how critical thinking, digital awareness, and inclusive educational tools can help build stronger and more informed communities.

📚 Two scientific journals from Lusófona University have strengthened their international positioning in the latest SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) evaluation.
The International Journal of Film and Media Arts (IJFMA) remains ranked in Q2 in the Visual Arts category, while the International Journal on Stereo and Immersive Media (IJSIM) advances to Q3.
These results reflect the growing international visibility and impact of research developed and published at Lusófona University, as well as the continued work of the editorial teams, researchers, and contributors involved in both journals.

The Erasmus+ funded AI-Literate project will be featured at the upcoming Media &
Learning Conference with two presentations exploring different dimensions of AI
literacy and higher education. 🌍🤖📚
On the first day, Lucia Mesquita from Lusófona University/CICANT will present “Beyond the Tool: Mapping Evidence-Based and Responsible AI Technology Use in Higher Education”. The presentation will explore how generative AI technologies are currently adopted, governed, and understood across higher education institutions in Europe, while introducing an analytical framework focused on ethics, AI literacy, disinformation, equity, and learning quality.
On the second day, Nicola Bruno from Dataninja and Stefano Moriggi from University of Modena and Reggio Emilia will present “Co-Designing AI Literacy: A European Multi-Partner Approach to Creating a Blended Learning Programme on GenAI and Disinformation”. Their session will showcase how educators from five European countries are collaboratively designing AI literacy courses that help students critically engage with AI-generated content, synthetic media, and disinformation.
