🇵🇹 Os investigadores do Lisbon Public Law, Heloísa Oliveira, Matteo Fermeglia e Pedro Minassa, participaram na 13.ª Conferência do European Environmental Law Forum, organizada pelo Centre for Climate Change Law and Governance, na Universidade de Copenhaga.
No dia 26 de agosto, Heloísa Oliveira e Matteo Fermeglia apresentaram a comunicação “O enquadramento da Lei da UE relativa à Monitorização dos Solos no quadro jurídico ambiental e climático da União Europeia”, no painel Direito da União Europeia, Clima e Ambiente. A apresentação analisou o papel deste novo diploma, a sua articulação com os instrumentos existentes e o seu contributo para um quadro jurídico mais integrado de proteção dos solos.
No dia 27 de agosto, Heloísa Oliveira e Pedro Minassa apresentaram a comunicação “Contencioso climático perante o Tribunal de Justiça da União Europeia: direitos fundamentais e solidariedade na transição climática da UE”, no painel Contencioso Climático. Partindo de uma análise dos processos climáticos apreciados pelo TJUE desde 2001, a apresentação examinou a crescente relevância dos direitos fundamentais, dos direitos de participação, do acesso à justiça e da solidariedade entre os Estados-Membros na transição da União Europeia para a neutralidade climática.
A participação dos investigadores reforçou o contributo do LPL para o debate internacional sobre o Direito Europeu do Ambiente e do Clima.

🇬🇧 Lisbon Public Law researchers Heloísa Oliveira, Matteo Fermeglia and Pedro Minassa participated in the 13th European Environmental Law Forum Conference, hosted by the Centre for Climate Change Law and Governance at the University of Copenhagen.
On 26 August, Heloísa Oliveira and Matteo Fermeglia presented “Placing the EU Soil Monitoring Law within the Puzzle of the EU’s Environmental and Climate Legal Framework” in the panel EU Law, Climate and Environment. Their presentation explored the role of the new EU Soil Monitoring Law, its interaction with existing instruments and its contribution to a more integrated legal framework for soil protection.
On 27 August, Heloísa Oliveira and Pedro Minassa presented “Climate Litigation before the Court of Justice of the European Union: Fundamental Rights and Solidarity in the EU’s Climate Transition” in the panel Climate Litigation. Based on an analysis of CJEU climate cases since 2001, the presentation examined the growing relevance of fundamental rights, participatory rights, access to justice and solidarity between Member States in the EU’s transition to climate neutrality.
Their participation strengthened LPL’s contribution to the international debate on European environmental and climate law.

🇵🇹 Já temos a primeira confirmação do programa da conferência internacional Behavioural Insights for Policy – First Insights, que se realizará nos dias 8 e 9 de outubro, na FDUL. O encontro reunirá especialistas para refletir sobre o contributo das ciências comportamentais para a conceção e avaliação de políticas públicas.
O programa incluirá uma mesa-redonda dedicada ao lançamento da obra "Nudge+: Think, Before You Nudge", de Sanchayan Banerjee, um dos coordenadores científicos do evento, e Peter John, Professor na King’s College London.
Em breve, anunciaremos novos oradores, painéis e workshops especializados.

🇬🇧 We are pleased to announce the first confirmed session of the programme of the international conference Behavioural Insights for Policy – First Insights, which will take place on 8 and 9 October at the University of Lisbon School of Law.
The conference will bring together experts to reflect on the contribution of behavioural science to the design and evaluation of public policy.
The programme will include a roundtable discussion marking the launch of "Nudge+: Think, Before You Nudge", by Sanchayan Banerjee, one of the conference’s scientific organisers, and Peter John, Professor at King’s College London.

🇵🇹 Nos dias 17 e 18 de setembro, o Lisbon Digital Rights, do Lisbon Public Law Research Centre, organiza os I Encontros Ibéricos de Direito Digital, subordinados ao tema “Regulação Digital — 10 Anos do RGPD”, reunindo académicos, especialistas e autoridades de supervisão de Portugal e de Espanha para debater alguns dos principais desafios atuais do Direito Digital.
O encontro contará ainda com um diálogo entre os Presidentes da CNPD e da AEPD, bem como com sessões dedicadas a jovens investigadores na área do Direito Digital.

🇬🇧 On 17 and 18 September, Lisbon Digital Rights, part of the Lisbon Public Law Research Centre, will host the 1st Iberian Digital Law Conference under the theme “Digital Regulation — 10 Years of the GDPR”, bringing together academics, experts and supervisory authorities from Portugal and Spain to discuss some of the most pressing current challenges (redundante; “pressing challenges” basta) in Digital Law.
The event will also feature a dialogue between the Presidents of the CNPD and the AEPD, as well as sessions dedicated to young researchers working in the field of Digital Law.

🇵🇹 Entre os dias 6 e 10 de julho, os investigadores do LPL Sandra Lopes Luís e Tiago Fidalgo de Freitas participaram no World Congress of Constitutional Law, realizado em Bogotá, na Colômbia, e acolhido pela Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Sandra Lopes Luís integrou o painel “Democracia em Risco e Constitucionalismo Global na Era Multipolar”, enquanto Tiago Fidalgo de Freitas participou no workshop “Constitutional Dialogues: Judicial and Extrajudicial Dimensions of Communication by Constitutional Courts”.

A participação dos investigadores reforçou a presença do Lisbon Public Law no debate académico internacional e proporcionou novas oportunidades de diálogo e partilha científica.

🇵🇹 Os investigadores do LPL Luís Pereira Coutinho, Pedro Moniz Lopes e Vladyslava Kaplina, participaram na edição deste ano do IVR World Congress, em Istambul.
Ao longo do congresso, contribuíram para diferentes debates nas áreas da teoria e filosofia do Direito, igualdade, constitucionalismo e Direito Internacional.
Pedro Moniz Lopes apresentou Two Faces of Equality, Two Sources of Inequality e foi convenor da sessão “Egalitarianism and Its Discontents: Exploring Ambivalent Outcomes of Equality-Oriented Policies”.
Vladyslava Kaplina apresentou Searching for Narnia: Primary and Secondary Rules in Customary International Law, na sessão “Categories of Norms”.
Luís Pereira Coutinho integrou a equipa de convenors da sessão “Legality, Legitimacy and the Moral Purpose of the Constitution”, onde apresentou The Legal Positivity of the Constitution: a Vindication of Political Liberalism.
A participação no IVR World Congress reforça a presença do Lisbon Public Law no debate académico internacional.

🇬🇧 LPL researchers Luís Pereira Coutinho, Pedro Moniz Lopes and Vladyslava Kaplina participated in this year’s IVR World Congress in Istanbul.
Throughout the Congress, they contributed to a range of discussions in the fields of legal theory and philosophy of law, equality, constitutionalism and International Law.
Pedro Moniz Lopes presented Two Faces of Equality, Two Sources of Inequality and convened the session “Egalitarianism and Its Discontents: Exploring Ambivalent Outcomes of Equality-Oriented Policies”.
Vladyslava Kaplina presented Searching for Narnia: Primary and Secondary Rules in Customary International Law as part of the session “Categories of Norms”.

🇵🇹 Os investigadores do LPL Tiago Fidalgo de Freitas, Domingos Farinho, Alexandra Leitão e João Tiago Silveira participaram na mais recente edição da Conferência Anual da ICON·S, que decorreu entre 29 de junho e 1 de julho, na UCD Sutherland School of Law, em Dublin.
Tiago Fidalgo de Freitas analisou o papel dos peritos na fiscalização abstrata da constitucionalidade. Domingos Farinho abordou a utilização de modelos de linguagem de grande escala em decisões administrativas discricionárias e moderou o painel “AI on the Bench”. Alexandra Leitão apresentou uma intervenção dedicada às decisões administrativas algorítmicas e moderou o painel “Automating Administrative Decisions II”. Por sua vez, João Tiago Silveira moderou o workshop dedicado à clareza, redação legislativa, linguagem e tradução enquanto instrumentos para uma melhor regulação.

🇵🇹 No dia 26 de junho, investigadores do Lisbon Public Law participaram no I Seminário Transformações da Teoria Geral do Direito Administrativo, na Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
O seminário contou com a coordenação do Investigador do LPL Francisco Paes Marques, que também moderou o painel dedicado à organização administrativa e à propriedade pública, e com as intervenções dos investigadores do LPL Telmo Coutinho Rodrigues sobre “O procedimento administrativo”, Sara Azevedo sobre a “Aplicação das normas regulamentares no tempo” e Jorge Pação sobre “O critério da propriedade pública”.
O encontro reforçou o diálogo científico entre Portugal e o Brasil em torno das transformações contemporâneas do Direito Administrativo.

🇬🇧 On 26 June, researchers from Lisbon Public Law took part in the 1st Seminar on Transformations in the General Theory of Administrative Law, held at the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
The seminar was coordinated by LPL researcher Francisco Paes Marques, who also chaired the panel on administrative organisation and public ownership. The programme included contributions by LPL researchers Telmo Coutinho Rodrigues on “Administrative Procedure”, Sara Azevedo on “The Application of Regulatory Rules over Time”, and Jorge Pação on “The Public Ownership Criterion”.
The event strengthened academic dialogue between Portugal and Brazil on contemporary transformations in Administrative Law.

🇵🇹 Entre os dias 23 e 26 de junho, os investigadores do Lisbon Public Law Heloísa Oliveira e Pedro Minassa participaram na 34.ª Conferência Internacional do Global Ecological Integrity Group, realizada em Coimbra sob o tema “Dignidade Ecológica através do Direito e da Governação”.
Os investigadores apresentaram o trabalho “Ecological Dignity across Time: Rights, Duties, and the Protection of Future Generations”, no painel “Just Transition Through the Lens of Ecological Integrity”, presidido por Matteo Fermeglia, investigador colaborador do LPL.
A apresentação analisou a proteção jurídica das gerações futuras, questionando se esta assenta sobretudo em direitos que lhes são atribuídos ou em deveres impostos aos atores do presente, em particular aos Estados.

🇬🇧 From 23 to 26 June, Lisbon Public Law researchers Heloísa Oliveira and Pedro Minassa took part in the 34th International Conference of the Global Ecological Integrity Group, held in Coimbra under the theme “Ecological Dignity through Law and Governance”.
The researchers presented the paper “Ecological Dignity across Time: Rights, Duties, and the Protection of Future Generations” during the panel “Just Transition Through the Lens of Ecological Integrity”, chaired by Matteo Fermeglia, a Collaborating Researcher at LPL.
The presentation examined the legal protection of future generations, considering whether it is primarily based on rights attributed to them or on duties imposed on present-day actors, particularly States.
