Dica Clavé # 20

Tal como Romeu e Julieta, o sal e a pimenta devem estar juntos e nunca devem ser separados. Se lhe pedirem para passar o sal durante uma refeição, não deixe a pimenta para trás, passe sempre os dois juntos.

Melhor ainda, coloque-os na mesa a uma distância facilmente alcançável.

A etiqueta para o sal e pimenta também refere que deve provar a sua comida antes de temperá-la; fazer o contrário é considerado um insulto ao cozinheiro.

Like Romeo and Juliet, the salt and pepper belong together and should never be parted. If you are asked to pass the salt at a meal, do not leave the pepper behind, but always pass the two together.

Place the shakers on the table within easy reach.

Correct salt and pepper etiquette also states that you should taste your food before seasoning it; to do other wise is considered an insult to the cook.

COMO MEXER O SEU CHÁ

Não há hábito mais Britânico do que beber uma chávena de chá decente.

É natural que se surpreenda ao saber que a maneira correcta de mexer o chá não é com um movimento circular. Em vez disso, deve mover a colher para trás e para a frente, das 12 para as 6 horas e em linha recta.

Não só é mais elegante, como também impede que o chá salpique os lados da chávena. Como bónus adicional, o movimento de trás para a frente ajuda a dissolver os cubos de açúcar mais rapidamente.

HOW TO STIR YOUR TEA

There is nothing more British than a decent cup of tea.

You may be surprised to know that the correct way to stir your tea is not in a circular motion. Instead, you should move your spoon back and forth, from 12 to 6 o’clock in a straight line.

Not only does it look more elegant, it also prevents the tea from splashing over the sides of the cup. As an added bonus, the back and forth motion helps dissolve sugar cubes faster.

Ao longo dos séculos, a produção de espumantes e champanhes aperfeiçoou-se, fazendo desta uma das bebidas mais elegantes e sofisticadas do mundo. É, aliás, um dos estilos de vinho mais versátil, pois serve-se com entradas, pratos principais e sobremesas.

O vinho espumante mais famoso do mundo é o Champagne, oriundo da região Francesa com o mesmo nome.

Quando servir um flute ou taça de champanhe, sirva até 2/3 da sua capacidade, nem menos, nem mais. E quando no flute estiver somente um dedo de líquido, é hora de voltar a servir mais champanhe ao seu convidado.

Over the centuries, the production of sparkling wines and champagnes has improved, making this one of the most elegant and sophisticated drinks in the world. It is, in fact, one of the most versatile styles of wine, as it is served with starters, main courses and desserts.

The most famous sparkling wine in the world is Champagne, which comes from the French region of the same name.

When serving a flute of champagne, serve to 2/3 of its capacity, no less, no more. And when there’s only a finger of liquid left in the flute, it’s time to go back to serving more champagne to your guest.

We all love to see a stack of beautiful wrapped Christmas presents under the tree, but unfortunately, much of the pretty packaging ends up in landfill.
This year, steer away from gift-wrap with shiny foil and glitter, which can’t be recycled. Instead, choose eco-friendly wrapping paper and make your Christmas celebrations more sustainable. 🎄🎄
