✨ Looking back at Day 3 of the FRP++ Workshop 2026!
Our final day focused on something just as important as technical knowledge: communication, professional growth, and future career opportunities.
🎤 The morning started with the soft skills seminar "Communication is not just talking", where students explored how effective communication goes far beyond speaking—it involves listening, understanding, connecting, and creating impact.
💬 Through discussions and practical examples, participants reflected on the role of communication in research, teamwork, leadership, and professional development.
🚀 We then moved to the FRP++ Job Fair, where students had the opportunity to meet representatives from leading companies and research organisations in the composites sector, learn about career opportunities, and engage in direct networking sessions.
🤝 New connections
💡 New opportunities
🎯 New perspectives for the future
The workshop concluded with the Closing Ceremony, celebrating three incredible days of learning, collaboration, innovation, and friendship.
Looking back, the FRP++ Workshop 2026 was not only about research and technology—it was about building a community, creating opportunities, and preparing the next generation of professionals in advanced composite materials.
Thank you to everyone who made it such a special experience! ❤️

✨ Looking back at Day 2 of the FRP++ Workshop 2026!
What a day! 🚀
The second day of our workshop was packed with inspiration, hands-on learning, and industry insights.
🎤 We started with an engaging keynote lecture by Professor Eric Moussiaux (Exel Composites / Free University of Brussels), who shared his extensive experience in the composites industry and highlighted the importance of connecting research, innovation, and real-world applications.
🔬 Participants then visited the UMinho Structural Laboratory (LEST), where they explored advanced testing facilities and took part in hands-on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
🌬️ In the afternoon, we travelled to Viana do Castelo for a technical visit to the ENERCON wind turbine blade manufacturing plant. Seeing how large composite structures are produced for the renewable energy sector was a truly inspiring experience.
🌊 The day continued with a visit to Santa Luzia Hill, offering breathtaking views over Viana do Castelo and the offshore WindFloat project, a remarkable example of innovation in floating wind energy.
🍽️ To finish the day, participants gathered for a social dinner, sharing experiences, strengthening connections, and creating memories beyond the classroom and laboratory.
A perfect blend of science, industry, sustainability, and networking. Looking back, Day 2 was definitely one to remember!
