Update: Days 2–4

The days following the storm have been about stabilising, salvaging, and leaning hard on community.

We checked on friends, secured power by rescuing our generator and spare solar system, and confirmed that the Tartaruga Dome miraculously held. From there, it became a constant cycle of packing, loading, unloading, and making temporary spaces liveable.

Friends arrived exactly when they were needed most — supporting Arantxa, helping on the land, bringing vehicles, hands, and calm. Between us all, we moved furniture, beds, clothing, toys, books, tools, and materials across multiple trips, filling not just the jeep but several cars.

When the sun finally returned, the wider community showed up in force. We dismantled what remained of the damaged structures, cleared debris, recycled destroyed materials, and relocated everything salvageable to safety. Kitchens were packed down, domes emptied, and the house slowly brought into order.

By the end of Day 4, exhausted but grounded, we knew we had done everything possible to save what could be saved. With another storm front forecast that night, we finally allowed ourselves a moment to breathe.

We are safe.
Our children are safe.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Storm Kristin hit our land with winds over 200km/h. In less than an hour, our home, kindergarten space, solar system, and years of work were destroyed.

We are all safe, but we’ve lost almost everything and now need help to rebuild our home, power, and safe spaces for our children.
