E Se o Bem e o Mal Não Existirem Como Nos Ensinaram?

Há momentos em que o céu nos obriga a olhar para cima. E há momentos em que aquilo que acontece no céu nos faz olhar para dentro.
Foi isso que senti ao observar o eclipse.
Durante alguns instantes, o dia deixou de ser completamente dia. A noite ainda não tinha chegado, mas a luz diminuiu. Surgiu uma sombra entre dois mundos, uma fronteira onde já não sabemos muito bem onde termina um e começa o outro.
E foi aí que me surgiu uma reflexão antiga: e se o bem e o mal não forem exatamente aquilo que nos ensinaram a acreditar?
Não falo de desculpar a crueldade, a violência ou as atrocidades que acontecem no mundo. Há atos que provocam sofrimento real e pelos quais deve existir responsabilidade. A reflexão é outra: quem decide, afinal, onde termina o bem e começa o mal?
Desde sempre organizamos o mundo através de opostos: dia e noite, luz e escuridão, Sol e Lua, certo e errado, bem e mal. Talvez precisemos destas dualidades para compreender a realidade.
Mas um eclipse mostra-nos algo diferente.
O dia não desaparece. A noite não vence. A luz não é destruída. Existe apenas uma sombra momentânea entre duas realidades que continuam a coexistir.
E talvez a nossa consciência seja assim.
Ao longo da história, diferentes culturas e religiões criaram códigos para distinguir o certo do errado. Podemos chamar-lhes arquétipos universais da sombra humana: a ganância, a inveja, a arrogância, a violência, a falta de compaixão e tantos outros comportamentos que atravessam diferentes sociedades.
Mas existe algo fascinante: a mesma ação pode ser interpretada de formas completamente diferentes por duas pessoas.
Uma sente culpa. A outra sente que fez o que era certo. Uma acredita que ultrapassou uma fronteira moral. A outra acredita que defendeu aquilo em que acredita. Quem está certa? Será que existe uma resposta universal?
Talvez o bem e o mal tenham duas dimensões. Existe um bem e um mal coletivo, construído através de leis, culturas, religiões, valores sociais e crenças transmitidas ao longo de gerações. And What If Good and Evil Don’t Exist the Way We Were Taught?

There are moments when the sky compels us to look up. And there are moments when what happens in the sky makes us look within.
That is what I felt as I watched the eclipse.
For a few moments, the day stopped being completely day. Night had not yet arrived, but the light had dimmed. A shadow emerged between two worlds, a boundary where we can no longer quite tell where one ends and the other begins.
And that is when an old reflection came to me: what if good and evil are not exactly what we were taught to believe?
I am not talking about excusing cruelty, violence, or the atrocities that happen in the world. There are acts that cause real suffering and for which there must be accountability. The reflection is something else: who ultimately decides where good ends and evil begins?
Since the beginning of time, we have organized the world through opposites: day and night, light and darkness, Sun and Moon, right and wrong, good and evil. Perhaps we need these dualities to make sense of reality.
But an eclipse shows us something different.
Day does not disappear. Night does not win. Light is not destroyed. There is simply a temporary shadow between two realities that continue to coexist.
And perhaps our consciousness is like that.
Throughout history, different cultures and religions have created codes to distinguish right from wrong. We might call them universal archetypes of the human shadow: greed, envy, arrogance, violence, lack of compassion, and so many other behaviors that transcend different societies.
But there is something fascinating: the same action can be interpreted in completely different ways by two people.
One feels guilt. The other feels they did what was right. One believes they crossed a moral boundary. The other believes they defended what they believe in. Who is right? Is there truly a universal answer?
Perhaps good and evil have two dimensions. There is a collective good and evil, shaped by laws, cultures, religions, social values, and beliefs passed down through generations. And there is individual good and evil, the one that lives within each of us. It is our conscience.
But is our conscience really ours?
