St. James' Primary School was created with the same guidelines of St. George’s, Quinta das Loureiras, Cascais, which was created in 1960. www.stjamesschool.pt

O St. James’ School é uma escola bilingue e bicurricular que aposta no desenvolvimento dos alunos através da cultura Inglesa e Portuguesa. As aulas têm poucos alunos, com professores nativos na língua que lecionam, muito experientes e dedicados, apoiados por um assistente, permanentemente em sala de aula otimizando o momento de aprender. O ambiente multicultural promove o respeito pelas outras cul

turas. A escola tem uma arquitetura contemporânea, com muita luz, piscina, pinhal e espaços muito amplos. O nosso ensino centra-se no desenvolvimento da autoconfiança do aluno, na promoção da independência na procura do conhecimento, promovendo a investigação e a experimentação (Hands On). They were so excited to put into practice everything they’ve learnt about writing a brochure. Their ideas and creativity were truly inspiring and made their teacher incredibly proud. 💛📚

Today, year 2 dove into the fascinating world of life cycles! Our young explorers learnt about the life cycle of frogs and ladybirds, and had a blast with hands-on activities like colouring, cutting, and matching 3D frogs with pictures. It was a fun and engaging way to learn about growth and transformation!

To celebrate S. Martinho’s Day, St. James’s invited a friendly chestnut seller to the school. The delicious smell of roasted chestnuts filled the air as students gathered to enjoy the special autumn treat

At exactly 11 o’clock on the 11th of November, St. James’s Primary School observed two minutes of silence for Remembrance Day to honour all those who fought in the war. The whole school came together in a moment of reflection and respect, remembering the bravery and sacrifice of those who served their country. It was a solemn and meaningful occasion, reminding everyone of the importance of peace and gratitude.

Year 5 practised adding positive and negative numbers using the whiteboard. Pupils enjoyed solving problems together and visualising how the signs affect the answers.

St James’s Primary School takes Halloween very seriously! The school comes alive with spooky decorations, creative costumes, and plenty of fun activities. The highlight is the Halloween parade, where pupils proudly show off their outfits. It’s one of the most exciting and memorable days of the year!

History, culture, and great memories! That’s how the Year 5 visit to Conímbriga went. 🏛️💫 The students explored the fascinating Roman ruins, admired the beautiful mosaics, and learned about daily life in one of Portugal’s most important archaeological sites.

Exciting news! Year 3 has started an exciting project - planting avocado seeds! The children are learning about the life cycle of plants and getting hands-on experience with nurturing their own seeds. We'll keep you updated on their progress.
