St. James's Primary School

St. James' Primary School was created with the same guidelines of St. George’s, Quinta das Loureiras, Cascais, which was created in 1960. www.stjamescascais.com

We are so proud of how all our students have been keeping up with their school work at home. Well Done Maryam🥰

Today Year 3 students did a blind tasting test in Science class to identify salty, sweet and bitter flavours. We learnt how important our tasting sense is to distinguish between healthy, unhealthy or even rotten food!

Today Year 3 and Year 2 students travelled back in time.... to Medieval times!! We went to visit the beautiful 'Castelo dos Mouros' in Sintra and were even fortunate to see some Stone Age (Neolithic) and Bronze Age tools. We learnt a lot and had so much fun!

Comparing melting in different solids was Year 4’s project this week. Here are some pictures of their wonderful effort. Well done!! 👏🏻

Year 4.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas... 🎄🎶🎄

Year 4 has been studying about the environment and more specifically about reforestation.
Concerned about helping our planet our student Alejandra participated in a project held at Serra de Sintra where she planted a “ Carvalho-negral”tree to help recover the forest in Peninha.
We are so proud of her commitment.

Year 5
Some recent activities we've enjoyed:
- Creating our own imaginative stories inspired by "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and presenting them in groups
- Learning about different pollinators and flowers through an outdoors game called "Blossom's Restaurant" 😊

Year 4 has been having fun learning different strategies to study the times tables.

Year 3 students are working hard in every subject. Each day they bring to school their own little projects about different topics we have been talking in class, like the food pyramid and food groups in Science, or nouns, adjectives and verbs in English, or our planet in Geography... I am very proud!!! 💪😍
